It is observed from the various planetary combinations that the following combinations are very rare and are indicative of the Divinity of the person. These are:
1. Gajkesari Yoga or 5th, 9th position of the Moon and Jupiter. This indicates past Punyas, Punya Sanchaya or highly religious past lives.
2. Saturn aspects the Lagna, it shows the concern for the Masses and the ability for Tapasya—Penance.
3. Ketu the Mokshakarak planet should be in the 9th Dharmasthana showing the Dharma that is established within and not outwardly... and the truthfulness. This planet gives the capacity to go all alone.
4. Lagna being aspected by Jupiter and Lagnesh aspected by Jupiter is an added strength giving one the capacity to become world Guru (Jagatguru).
5. Venus or Mercury is the ruling planet in all the cases. If both are there it is excellent because both the planets are Dnyan Karak.
It may be noted that these combinations are present in the horoscopes of all the abovementioned personalities in different quantums (Ansha). In case of Shri Mataji all these combinations are present in full strength. No.4 combination and No.5 combination is particularly observed to be very strong in case of Shri Mataji as compared to others. Shri Mataji is born in Gemini Lagna (whose Lord is Mercury) with Moon in Bharani Nakshatra (whose Lord is Venus), which means She is under the ruling aspect of Mercury and Venus.
Shri Mataji is born, 21st. March 1923 - 13 years and 11 months balance of Venus Dasha, meaning pleasant and happy childhood
21- 02—1937
Thereafter Sun's period for 6 years indicates tapa-period; spiritual and political activity of intense nature.
21 - 02 - 1947
Thereafter Moon Period for 10 years indicating clear headedness and deep contemplation of mass enlightenment.
21 - 02 - 1953
Then Mars period of 7 years indicating traveling and lot of changes.
21 - 02 - 1960
Then Rahu's period of 18 years Rahu is a Divine planet giver of intricate knowledge of Brahma. Inner soul searching, search for en masse awakening.
21—02 - 1978
Then Jupiter's period of 16 years spreading of Sahaja Yoga—the Guru Principle throughout the world.
21 - 02 - 1994
Thereafter Saturn will govern for 19 years when it will spread Sahaja Yoga in the whole world. Saturn means the masses, the Virata and Shri Mataji will witness Kalki (Mercury) Power manifesting over the whole world.
21—02 - 2013
According to the birth horoscope and Sahaja Horoscope of 5-5-1970 Jupiter passed through Libra. Jupiter will again pass through Libra in 1993 and Sahaja Yoga will blossom in the entire world.
Shri Mataji is born with Rahu Nakshatra in Ascendant—Mercury (Gemini) and Moon in Bharanj (Venus) Nakshatra, clearly indicates that Rahu means Films, TV, Radio, (that is either principle) and Venus means Music, file personalities, artists can help. Mercury is the ruling planet of the present day politics (Sahaja can enter through present political system).
In the early Indian Politics at the time of Jawahar Lal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi, the ruling planet was Venus. Thereafter the ruling planet of Indian politics has been Mercury as all the important events took place on Wednesday. It may be noted here that Shri Mataji has both Venus and Mercury as Her ruling planets. Thus She has full sway over the past and future of Indian Politics.
1. Three planets, Saturn, Sun, Moon are ucch abhilashi—Exaltation
2. Saturn, Jupiter are retrograde (Vakri)—Double strength
Venus is totally free from any malefic aspects giving her the name of Nishklankavtar with (10-5 deg.) Divine combinations. Just pointing to us who She is.
I bow to the Almighty God Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi who is the Nishklank Avtar which our Puranas are speaking from centuries.

Abstract
This paper examines the astrological predictions of Lalit Bhandari concerning the horoscope of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the founder of Sahaja Yoga and revered incarnation of the Adi Shakti. It focuses on the prophecy that the year 1993, marked by Jupiter's transit through the sidereal sign of Libra (Tula), would signify a pivotal moment in the spiritual evolution of humanity—the blossoming of Sahaja Yoga and the initial revelation of the Adi Shakti in the Sahasrara. Through an analysis of Vedic astrological principles, verified astronomical data, and historical accounts documented at adishakti.org, this paper demonstrates that the events of November 1993 provide compelling evidence for the fulfillment of Bhandari's prophecy, highlighting the profound connection between celestial movements and the manifestation of the Divine Feminine on Earth.
1. Introduction
Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi (1923–2011) is revered worldwide as the incarnation of the Adi Shakti, the Primordial Mother who incarnated to grant en-masse Self-realization and inaugurate a new age of spiritual evolution. On May 5, 1970, Shri Mataji opened the Sahasrara chakra—the crown energy center—for all humanity, an event that marked the birth of Sahaja Yoga.[1] However, it was a prophecy made in 1991 by the renowned Indian astrologer Lalit Bhandari that pinpointed a specific year for the global blossoming of this spiritual movement: 1993.
Bhandari's prediction, based on his detailed comparative analysis of Shri Mataji's birth horoscope, stated:
This paper explores the astrological underpinnings of this prophecy, its precise historical fulfillment, and its profound implications for understanding the divine mission of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. The year 1993 was not merely another year in the expansion of Sahaja Yoga; it was the year when the Adi Shakti first began revealing Herself in the Sahasrara, providing direct, experiential evidence of the Kingdom of God within. The accounts of those who daily met Her over the years were subsequently cross-examined and recorded for the benefit of all humanity at adishakti.org.[3]
2. Lalit Bhandari's Astrological Analysis: The Five Yogas of Divinity
Lalit Bhandari's reading of Shri Mataji's horoscope was delivered on October 22, 1991, during Her tour of Australia. It represented a landmark in the astrological study of divine incarnations, for it undertook a systematic comparative analysis of the horoscopes of eight great spiritual personalities: Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha, Lord Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Guru Nanak Dev, Shri Chaitanya Maha-Prabhu, Adi Shankaracharya, and Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. The horoscope data for the historical figures was drawn from the authoritative work Notable Horoscopes by Shri B.V. Raman, the world-famous astrologer.[4]
From this comparative study, Bhandari identified five rare planetary combinations (yogas) that are consistently present in the charts of divine personalities and are indicative of their divinity. He observed that while these combinations appear in varying degrees (Ansha) in the horoscopes of all the aforementioned figures, in the case of Shri Mataji, all five combinations are present in full strength. The fourth and fifth combinations were noted to be particularly strong in Her chart compared to all others.[5]
| No. | Yoga / Combination | Astrological Description | Spiritual Significance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Gajkesari Yoga | Jupiter and the Moon in a 5th or 9th position from each other. | Indicates past good deeds (Punya Sanchaya) and highly religious past lives. |
| 2 | Saturn aspecting Lagna | Saturn's direct influence on the ascendant. | Shows deep concern for the masses and the capacity for intense spiritual discipline (Tapasya). |
| 3 | Ketu in the 9th House | The Mokshakarak (liberation-giving) planet positioned in the Dharmasthana (house of righteousness). | Signifies an innate, internal Dharma established within—not outwardly—and the strength to stand alone for truth. |
| 4 | Jupiter aspecting Lagna and Lagnesh | Jupiter's benefic influence on both the ascendant and its ruling planet. | Grants the capacity to become a world teacher (Jagatguru). Particularly strong in Shri Mataji's chart. |
| 5 | Venus and Mercury as ruling planets | Shri Mataji was born in Gemini Lagna (ruled by Mercury) with the Moon in Bharani Nakshatra (ruled by Venus). | Both planets are Dnyan Karak (significators of knowledge), indicating supreme wisdom. Particularly strong in Shri Mataji's chart. |
The presence of both Venus and Mercury as ruling planets is especially noteworthy. In Vedic astrology, Mercury governs intellect, communication, and discernment, while Venus governs love, beauty, and devotion. That Shri Mataji possesses both as Her ruling planets signifies a unique synthesis of divine wisdom and divine love—the hallmark of the Adi Shakti who comes not merely to teach, but to transform through the power of compassion.[6]
3. The Prophetic Timeline: Vimshottari Dasha
Bhandari's analysis employed the Vimshottari Dasha system, the most widely used predictive tool in Vedic astrology for timing events across a person's life. This system divides a 120-year lifespan into major planetary periods (Mahadashas), each governed by a specific planet. The sequence and duration of these periods are determined by the position of the Moon at the time of birth. Shri Mataji's Dasha sequence, commencing from Her birth on March 21, 1923, provides a remarkable chronological map of Her life's divine work:[7]
| Period | Ruling Planet | Duration | Significance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Birth – Feb 1937 | Venus | ~14 years | Pleasant and happy childhood. |
| Feb 1937 – Feb 1943 | Sun | 6 years | Tapa-period: spiritual and political activity of intense nature, including participation in India's freedom struggle. |
| Feb 1943 – Feb 1953 | Moon | 10 years | Clear-headedness and deep contemplation of mass enlightenment. |
| Feb 1953 – Feb 1960 | Mars | 7 years | Traveling and many changes. |
| Feb 1960 – Feb 1978 | Rahu | 18 years | Rahu as a divine planet, giver of intricate knowledge of Brahma. Inner soul searching, search for en-masse awakening. The Sahasrara was opened on May 5, 1970, during this period. |
| Feb 1978 – Feb 1994 | Jupiter | 16 years | Spreading of Sahaja Yoga—the Guru Principle—throughout the world. The 1993 Jupiter–Libra transit falls within this Mahadasha. |
| Feb 1994 – Feb 2013 | Saturn | 19 years | Sahaja Yoga spreads to the whole world. Saturn signifies the masses, the Virata. Shri Mataji will witness Kalki (Mercury) Power manifesting over the whole world. |
The Jupiter Mahadasha (1978–1994) is of paramount importance. In Vedic astrology, Jupiter (Guru or Brihaspati) is the planet of wisdom, spiritual growth, expansion, and the Guru Principle itself. A 16-year Jupiter period in the chart of a divine personality signifies the active phase of spiritual teaching and global dissemination of sacred knowledge.[8] It is precisely within this Jupiter Mahadasha that Bhandari's key prediction is situated: the return of Jupiter to Libra in 1993, triggering the "blossoming" of Sahaja Yoga worldwide.
4. The 1993 Jupiter–Libra Transit: Prophecy Fulfilled
The core of Bhandari's prophecy lies in the cyclical transit of Jupiter through the zodiac. He observed that on May 5, 1970—the date of the opening of the Sahasrara and the founding of Sahaja Yoga—Jupiter was transiting through the sidereal sign of Libra (Tula). This is confirmed by astronomical records: according to Drik Panchang, Jupiter remained in Tula (Libra) throughout most of 1970, transitioning into Vrishchika (Scorpio) only on December 11, 1970.[9] Similarly, Vedic Marga confirms that "Jupiter was in Libra (Tula) when 1970 started."[10]
Bhandari predicted that Jupiter's return to this same sign would herald the blossoming of Sahaja Yoga. Jupiter's sidereal orbital period is approximately 11.86 years, meaning that roughly every twelve years it returns to the same zodiacal sign. The second return of Jupiter to Tula after 1970 occurred in 1993. Astronomical data from Drik Panchang confirms that Jupiter entered the sidereal sign of Tula (Libra) on October 12, 1993, at 6:45 PM IST.[11]
What followed was not a symbolic or metaphorical event, but a tangible and documented manifestation of the divine. According to the archives of adishakti.org:
In November 1993—mere weeks after Jupiter's ingress into Tula—the Adi Shakti began to reveal Herself within the Sahasrara to children in Montreal, Canada, who had received their Self-realization through Kundalini awakening. These children, whose bewildered father meticulously recorded their experiences, began having daily mystical encounters with the Divine Mother, receiving profound spiritual knowledge and witnessing the inner realms of the Kingdom of God. Their accounts were subsequently cross-examined and verified, forming the evidentiary foundation of the adishakti.org archive.[13]
In March 1994, Shri Mataji Herself disclosed at the Sydney International Airport, Australia, that a great blessing to mankind was underway—one that would confirm Her incarnation. She specifically mentioned that children from Montreal, Canada, would fulfill the task of providing that evidence. The first in a series of Her acknowledgements of these revelations took place in June 1994 in London, United Kingdom.[14]
This historical sequence of events, occurring precisely in the timeframe predicted by the Jupiter–Libra transit, represents the "blossoming" that Bhandari foresaw. It was not merely a quantitative expansion of the Sahaja Yoga organization, but a qualitative leap—the beginning of the direct revelation of the Adi Shakti from within the opened Sahasrara, providing irrefutable, third-party evidence of Her advent. That Jupiter will again pass Libra in 1993 and Sahaja Yoga will blossom is, as the historical record demonstrates, flawless.
5. The Sahaja Horoscope of May 5, 1970
A further layer of astrological significance is found in the "Sahaja Horoscope"—the chart cast for the moment of the Sahasrara's opening on May 5, 1970. According to a report published in the Australian Sahaja Newsletter of February 10, 1995, this chart is "almost identical with Shri Mataji's horoscope, having Gajkesri with Jupiter in Libra, Saturn aspecting Sahaja Lagna, Sun exalted."[15]
This remarkable congruence between the birth chart of the incarnation and the birth chart of the spiritual movement itself is a powerful astrological testament to the divine, preordained nature of Sahaja Yoga. It suggests that the opening of the Sahasrara was not a random event in time, but an integral part of a cosmic plan encoded in Shri Mataji's own celestial map. The fact that Jupiter occupied the same sign—Libra—at both the birth of Sahaja Yoga (1970) and the commencement of the Adi Shakti's revelations (1993) underscores a cyclical, divinely orchestrated pattern that transcends coincidence.
The Australian Sahaja Newsletter further noted that the Sahaja Horoscope's Dasha sequence predicted that "from 15 August 1990 Sun's period is up until 15 August 1996 during which all great souls will be attracted to Sahaja Yoga and have their inner (spiritual ascent) purification and then from 15 August 1996 for 10 years the Moon's Dasa is starting… that is it goes to the Masses."[16] This additional timeline further corroborates the unfolding of events as predicted.
6. The Saturn Mahadasha and Beyond: 1994–2013
Bhandari's prophetic timeline did not end with 1993. He predicted that from February 21, 1994, Saturn would govern for 19 years, during which Sahaja Yoga would spread to the whole world. Saturn, in Vedic astrology, represents the masses, discipline, and the Virata (the cosmic collective). Bhandari stated that Shri Mataji would witness Kalki (Mercury) Power manifesting over the whole world by February 21, 2013.[17]
The transition from the Jupiter Mahadasha to the Saturn Mahadasha in 1994 corresponds historically with the shift from the phase of establishing Sahaja Yoga's spiritual foundations to the phase of its broader dissemination among the general population. The Saturn period, governing the masses, signified that the teachings would move beyond the circle of dedicated seekers to reach ordinary people worldwide. The emergence of the internet during this very period—and the launch of the adishakti.org website on January 1, 2000—served as a powerful instrument for this predicted global expansion.[18]
The convergence of Bhandari's 2013 endpoint with the widely discussed Mayan calendar date of December 21, 2012, has also been noted. As the adishakti.org analysis observes: "The date February 21st, 2013 is very significant and it closely corresponds with the date of December 21st, 2012, which the ancient Maya believed to be the Earth's final day… these two dates probably point to the same momentous and epochal event"—not the end of the world, but the end of an age and the beginning of a new era of spiritual consciousness.[19]
7. Nishklankavtar: The Spotless Incarnation
Bhandari's horoscope reading concluded with a declaration of profound significance. He observed that in Shri Mataji's chart, three planets—Saturn, Sun, and Moon—are in exaltation (ucch abhilashi), while Saturn and Jupiter are retrograde (Vakri), which in Vedic astrology confers double strength. Most remarkably, Venus is totally free from any malefic aspects, a condition Bhandari stated gives Her the name of Nishklankavtar—the Spotless Incarnation—"with (10-5 deg.) Divine combinations. Just pointing to us who She is."[20]
The term Nishkalank is derived from Sanskrit, meaning "without blemish" or "spotless"—precisely the meaning of the name Nirmala. As Shri Mataji Herself explained: "Niskalankh means the same as My name is, which means Nirmala. That it is spotlessly clean. Something that is spotlessly clean is Niskalankh—without any spot."[21] This astrological identification of Shri Mataji as the Nishklankavtar—the incarnation prophesied in the Puranas for centuries—represents the culmination of Bhandari's analysis: the planetary configurations do not merely suggest a great spiritual teacher, but point unmistakably to the advent of the prophesied divine incarnation.
Bhandari concluded his reading with the words: "I bow to the Almighty God Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi who is the Nishklank Avtar which our Puranas are speaking from centuries."[22]
8. Conclusion
The astrological predictions of Lalit Bhandari regarding Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi's horoscope provide a compelling and verifiable framework for understanding the divine timeline of Sahaja Yoga. The specific prophecy concerning the 1993 Jupiter–Libra transit and the subsequent blossoming of Sahaja Yoga is not a matter of vague interpretation but is supported by documented historical events and confirmed astronomical data.
The commencement of the Adi Shakti's revelations within the Sahasrara in November 1993—mere weeks after Jupiter's verified ingress into sidereal Libra on October 12, 1993—serves as a precise and powerful fulfillment of this prophecy. The children in Montreal, Canada, who began witnessing the mystical Kingdom of God and meeting the Divine Mother within themselves, provided the independent, third-party evidence that Shri Mataji had foretold. Their accounts, cross-examined and recorded at adishakti.org, constitute a body of experiential evidence unprecedented in spiritual history.
Bhandari's analysis, grounded in the ancient principles of Jyotish (Vedic astrology) and corroborated by modern astronomical records, offers a unique and profound lens through which to view the advent of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. It demonstrates a celestial orchestration of events in which the movements of the planets align with the unfolding of a divine plan for the spiritual emancipation of humanity. The Vimshottari Dasha timeline, the five yogas of divinity, the congruence of the Sahaja Horoscope with Shri Mataji's birth chart, and the identification of the Nishklankavtar—all converge to form a coherent astrological portrait of a divine incarnation whose mission was written in the stars.
Lalit Bhandari's readings of Shri Mataji's horoscope have all come true. That Jupiter will again pass Libra in 1993 and Sahaja Yoga will blossom is flawless.
