The prophecies of Nostradamus
Enlighten! Mother Kundalini, Enlighten!
The female change will be very difficult;
City
and province will gain by the change:
The
heart will count most, prudence well established, chasing
out cunning,
Sea,
land, people will change their whole state.
Century 4:21
The
change caused by the powerful presence of the female will be
very difficult:
But
the whole world will gain by the change.
The
heart will be the most important feature of this
transformation, but also prudence will be as much as an
established aspect of this new life, chasing out cunning
created by man.
The
entire world, in all aspects, will be altered in the most
fundamental way.

Nostradamus: Prophecies for
Women
(Manuela Dunn
Mascetti and Peter Lorie, Nostradamus: Prophecies for
Women, Simon & Schuster, 1995, p. 89.)
The
female change will be very difficult;
Manuela
Dunn and Peter Lorie have in their detailed explanation
again cluttered the landscape and marred its beauty —
politics, science, technology, invention, innovation, arts,
birth, child-care, education, medicine, the role of elders
and so forth. This is probably not the future role that
Nostradamus foresaw for women in his tranquil mind.
"The
children of the 21st century will inherit a world
in many ways beguiling. For everyone but the poorest, it
beckons as a magical empire of Mammon, a madcap consumer's
paradise of immediate gratification and express delivery, of
hot images and cool gadgets, of designer jeans and designer
genes.
It
is a dream world where chemists can turn a sow's ear into a
silk purse, where bioengineers can put a bit of sheep into a
wolf — or vice verse — and where the life-styles of the
rich and famous are beamed by satellite to every upwardly
mobile village on the planet. Thanks to science and
technology — not to mention advertising and marketing —
more people are consuming a more amazing array of worldly
goods than at any time in history ...
Asia
has many large countries — it accounts for more than 50%
of the globes' population — and as prosperity swells
through the region, so do the demands of Asians for the good
life. A refrigerator becomes a must, an automobile no longer
an impossible dream. But the fruits of prosperity,
especially when reaped in vast numbers, can be disastrous
for the environment, both locally and for the earth as a
whole. A rain forest leveled on Borneo can no longer absorb
carbon dioxide belched out of the U.S. or Europe. An
explosion of car-buying in China, India and Southeast Asia
will accelerate the greenhouse effect ...
"Asia," reports the Asian Development Bank in
Manila, "is the world's most polluted and
environmentally degraded region." "

The
Message of the Holy Sprit that Homo sapiens have to
transform themselves into higher beings will be difficult to
be accepted and imbibed by the aggressive, macho,
ego-oriented male-dominated societies even as they stand on
the brink of spiritual annihilation. The global race and
greed for material wealth has reached satanic proportions
with little regard for existing resources, environment
or humans — everything is a commodity.
China, India and
the entire Pacific Rim countries are industrializing at a
furious pace and soon will be as greedy as the Americans in
consumption and wealth accumulation, given that fact that
"the average North American consumes fives times more
than a Mexican, 10 times more than a Chinese, and 30 times
more than a person in India." (The Globe and Mail,
Tuesday, November 25, 1997).) Mother Earth will be raped and
pillaged on a scale too frightening to calculate.
Buccaneering billionaires are towering icons of insatiable
greed and billions daily dream of making millions. Human
relationships are being stripped of all warmth, love and
compassion as wars, drugs, crimes, violence, divorces, unwed
mothers, poverty, racism, media, immorality, untruth,
religions, corruption, politics, litigation, homelessness
and hopelessness take their daily toll. Humans are being
dehumanized and devoured by the very societies they have
built for themselves.
Any community that does not put the
spirit of humans first is doomed to fail. This includes all
Eastern societies now seduced into embracing the virtues of
materialism with a vulgar display of wantonness and abandon,
forgetting and relinquishing their ancient spiritual roots
that had nourished their inner Self and kept the fabric of
humanity intact.
Were
I possessed of the least knowledge, I would, when walking on
the great way, fear only paths that lead astray.
The
great Way is easy, yet people prefer bypaths.
The
court is corrupt, the fields are overgrown with weeds, the
granaries are empty;
Yet
there are those dressed in fineries, with swords at their
sides, filled with food and drink,
And
possessed of too much wealth.
This
is known as taking the lead in robbery. Far indeed is this
from the Way.

Modern
humans are now totally engaged in mind, body and soul
seeking wealth, unable to divert their attention to the
Spirit. The entire system is geared towards economic
domination, ruthless competition, and increasing living
standards. The false fears of poverty (or 'lack' of wealth)
keep human minds trapped in a vicious illusion and permanent
preoccupation. They are mentally shackled in a
male-dominated culture of power, greed and consumerism. They
will find it difficult even to listen to voices of wisdom,
let alone transform. Enlightenment takes some time to be
understood. Few really believe that their spirit within exists and is eternal. Without the comfort, faith, and
security of this Knowledge life continues to be a one-night
stand of wild abandon, devoid of decorum, direction or
destiny. The only hope lies in the awakening and empowerment
of women, and the reversal of patriarchal personalities.
"Audrey
Hope's interview with Shri Mataji on the Reel Women series
has been accepted for broadcast on the new international cable
network, The Wisdom Network. The two-part series will be aired
across the world.
'Reel
Women' is a half hour weekly cable TV show dedicated to
creating positive female role models in our media, and to
life-altering perspectives that can transform our world. The show
fills a needed gap in programming, and offers the perspective that
the feminine qualities of love and compassion in all of us , can
heal the world. Audrey Hope is an award-winning actress from New
York and when she arrived in Los Angeles six years ago, she became
very concerned about the media's effect in our lives. She began to
produce, write, and host a series on a shoe-string budget , with
the aspiration to sensitize people to view all human beings with
respect and compassion. But it wasn't until Audrey had the rare
privilege to interview Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, that she
understood the importance of this kind of show for this new era.
"Now we can end spiritual, economical and global turmoil by
connecting to The Mother energy that is innate in all of us",
she says.
The
Wisdom Network is a new network that focuses on self improvement,
relationships, the mind, the body, spirituality and ecological
issues. Wisdom TV seeks to inspire, enlighten, nurture and
challenge while offering viewers new ways of viewing themselves
and the world. Wisdom TV will reach a largely untapped and
emerging mainstream category of potentially 65 million viewers in
America and millions internationally."

"Now
in the same way a Sahaja Yogi must know that the
Child within him is born — the Spirit. Spirit is
the Child which has been born within him. Now he has
to nourish it, through the Kundalini. He has to water
it. He has to look after it. He has to make it grow. Now
where is the time for other nonsensical things? You have a
Child in your hands. You are all mothers looking after the
Child that's your Spirit. So where do you have time for
all these things? What attention should be: "What I can
do to make this Child happy, to make this Child grow, to
make this Child completely manifest my Self?" The
mother replaces herself as soon as the child becomes a
mature child. So now in you The Motherhood must take over
the fatherhood — motherhood towards your Self ...
Now
the men, when they are dominating, they have to understand
that they have to be compassionate. They have to be kind,
they have to be considerate but never subservient, never
subservient. This is, one should understand that you should
never be subservient. Now the woman, what they have to be is
to be great, large, receptive, receiving and nourishing all
that ...
I
think this is one of the biggest problems of the West today.
The men are neither men and women are not women. I find this
quality so horrid that I don't know how to deal with the
mixture. You must understand this very simple thing in life
that if you are a hybrid stuff, you can't have the quality
of a Sahaja Yogi. If you mix it up it's a very
funny thing, isn't it? So a woman must try to be a woman
and a man must try to be a man. Now see, what is the
situation of a man as a masculine effect on the development
of consciousness? So as the manliness was expressed we have
developed science. We have developed all this knowledge, all
these things which are outside. Now everything is ready.
Now
the Woman has to come up. I mean, I am saying in a very
abstract way; don't think of woman, but you can say the
Feminine. The feminine nature has to rise. Now everything is
ready — it has to work out. All the Chakras are
ready, now awaken the Kundalini ... Say, for
example, there's one personality of masculine personality
that has to come and do a certain job. Now you have done it.
All right now the other personality has to do the job. Now
see the situation of the Divine also ...
The
whole preparation has been made for this Aquarius Age to
come in to bring in the Kundalini upward and to make
the whole thing work out in such a way that the left and
right meet and you all become ignited — enlightened. It
was a question of our being sharing the whole job in a
proper understanding.
Now
see how Mother Earth Herself was created. It is also a very
simple thing. First, the movement of the Energy started
flowing. Now this is a combined Energy, alright? Then the
combined Energy went round and round and round like that,
and when it consolidated there was this Big Bang. When Big
Bang took place — now this is manly work, I would say in a
way, manly style because still the Mother Earth is not
produced. So then these little fragments again went round
and round. With the momentum they became roundish. Out of
them Mother Earth was selected for one job. On The Mother
Earth out of the water came the life — the carbon came in.
Everybody helped there and a human being was created. Then
the men went round to improve their societies and whatever
they have done to it, whatever was possible with their ego
is done — finished now. Now they have done their job ...
Now
the Woman — or we can say the Kundalini which has
been waiting all these years — was waiting, was resting,
waiting for that Time, isn't it? So we call it the Blossom
Time has now come. At that Time the Kundalini has to
rise and ignite in such a way that the completion of the
Whole Work takes place — it is simple. Do you understand
now? ...
So
the Revolution has to take place and the Revolution is only
possible when we understand that what part is left out now
to be done. Are you getting Me all right? So that part is
now Realization, our awareness of the Kundalini. For
that your feminine qualities are going to help you, not your
masculine qualities. So aggressiveness must be given up by
men. Also, because they are Sahaja Yogis, they have
to take the feminine qualities ...
A
turning point has come. Now a revolution is not a rebellion
at all by any chance. It's a wrong idea people have. It's
not rebellion that you hit me and I hit you; go on hitting
each other. Like a pendulum you move. You see the movement
of a pendulum. It's not like a boom. This thing that today
you are born as a Muslim, tomorrow you are born as a Jew,
then you are born as a Jew, then you are born as a Hindu,
then you are born as — it's not a pendulum. It is spiral
movement. So every time you achieve any evolution you are at
a higher level than before. So the movement is spiral —
see My point?
Now
to achieve the higher position in our whole being what
should we do? Is to understand that from this point to that
point we have to rise. We have to rise in a way that it is
not in a pendulum way, but in a spiral way. And to move
spirally you have to use another kind of force. Whatever you
have used so far has to be endowed with another kind of
force and that's the feminine qualities of women.
But
where are the feminine woman? They dress up like women, they
will try to be feminine and all that. That's not the way.
From inside, from the heart. A feminine heart Christ showed
that in His life — He forgave. Only a woman can forgive.
Man cannot because he is aggressive. How can he forgive? He
forgave to such an extent to show that He is now giving a
turn to the spiral, and now a feminine quality has to be
developed among human beings. But that doesn't mean that
you start walking like women or developing waistlines
because that's another stupidity. But to be motherly; not
to be fatherly but to be motherly. That kindness, that
gentleness should be in your behavior towards each other.
Of
course this force also corrects, sometimes also gets angry
also. Mother also has to get angry sometimes, specially with
people who never get alright with their behaviour, She has
to be shouting, punishing, and sometimes She also destroys!
It's alright. But that is sometimes, not all the time. So
just now one has to accept that to be like the Mother Earth
they have to be forbearing — Dhara. She is the
sustenance of everything. She takes everything, the
vibrations are sucked in. And now for the first time after
Realization, you can give Her back what you have got it from
Her. You can give vibrations to Her trees that are created,
you can make them beautiful. You can transform a flower into
a more beautiful flower. Now whatever you have to give what
you have got from the Mother Earth you can give because your
Mother Earth is awakened within you now. So you
return Her back everything that you got from Her and give it
to others. Generosity, the greatness of heart, nobility,
forgiveness, love, affection, bearing everything for love.
And for The Mother, to save her child, she'll starve
herself, she'll do everything to save her child —
complete dedication she has for her child. That's a real
mother — I mean the kind of mothers you see these days,
neither they are mothers nor women. But what I am saying,
that's the real image of a mother, and you have an image
before you."
Shri
Ameya Shri Nirmala Devi
Mother Earth, London,

"Brothers and Sisters of the World,
It is a great
honour for me to talk about global problems of women in
front of this distinguished assembly. First of all I would
like to offer my profound gratitude to the government and
the people of our host country, the People's Republic of
China. I have had the privilege of visiting China on two
previous occasions and I am a great admirer of the wisdom
and culture of this great nation that I have visited.
This is,
beyond my imagination, the most glorious time in the history
of the world that at this time we are so much aware of the
problems of women. Women as a whole have definitely suffered
over the ages because we have not realised what their
importance is and what their proper role is in human
society. Society itself, which is her creation, tries
to control or put down the womanhood. In the East, we can
say, that due to fundamentalist influence women have been
under great pressure and their morality is based on fear
rather than freedom. In the West they have fought for their
freedom, but what they have attained is spurious freedom.
The women in the West have the freedom to abandon all social
and moral values. Thus in the East, we can say, that most of
the women are timid, oppressed and cannot express
themselves, while in the West we find most of the women are
reduced to a sex symbol. They are keen to expose their body;
their anxiety is to appear in fashion advertisement s and
very cheap popularity. Most of them accepted this position
because otherwise they could not have survived in that
chaotic world of the West. What most of the women in the
East would regard as very humiliating and degrading is
regarded as something very glorifying in the West. I have
seen both the worlds very deeply and I feel that unless and
until you bring a new culture by which women from the East
and women from the West can both rise in their own esteem
and express themselves in such a way that they create high
moral standards for their society, women neither in the East
nor in the West will rise to their full stature of feminine
speciality. The speciality is that if women are respected
for their womanhood, understanding what they are capable of
and how they can empower themselves with all the education
needed, all the security will be provided to them and they
will provide security to the society.
All the
fundamentalists who talk of religion expect women to be
absolutely moral and the men can do whatever they like. I
feel we have to educate men more than women. I must admit it
is not difficult to collect money for poor women in the
developing countries and help them to get out of their
poverty, but unfortunately, my knowledge is that the money
we are collecting may not reach the poor women but may end
up into the pockets of the corrupt ministers, bureaucrats
and other people in charge.
I do not want
to criticize any UN organization because I know they are
very honest in their purpose, but they must be made aware of
what is happening under the table. We in India have two very
big states called as Uttar Pradesh and Bihar which are very
much helped by UNICEF as well as the World Health
Organization. UNICEF started a project called Angan, meaning
courtyard, where the children were to be educated and
brought up in a proper shape. This project is not at all
working for the children but all the money goes into the
pockets of all the corrupt people who are in charge of that
project and the children do not get even two percent of what
is being sent for them. Same with the World Health
Organization, which is sending medicines and equipment to
India. These medicines are sold in the market and are
completely used by the recipients for their own gains. The
same happens to WHO equipment. So the poor people never get
any benefit and they remain all the time helpless.
One has to
have a very good network of people, specially women, who are
involved and who are honest, compassionate and who would
like to make the best out of this money, helping the women
to achieve social equality. The main work of womanhood is to
create a good society.
Immorality
and corruption are the two horrible monsters which are
eating up our society. I would blame The Mothers of these
immoral and corrupt persons because they failed in their
duty as mothers in their childhood. The loving training of
The Mother is the first and most effective influence in
shaping the children into beautiful citizens. Mothers who
have never tried to guide with great concern and love, or
the wives or the daughters who are falling into the fear of
the men or of the destructive culture, have not done their
duty as integral members of the family to strengthen the
moral fibre of the men. It is important also to see how
children are treated in these two cultures of East and West.
What we see in the East is that children would listen to
their mothers if they are not under fundamentalist culture.
This culture relegates women to the level of an inferior
human being, fit to be dominated by men and children. In the
West also the same thing happens. Children don't respect
their mothers neither do they listen to them. I feel this is
because, generally, the Western women spend more time
looking after their body and looks than on looking after and
loving their children. The nexus between The Mother and
children weakens and breaks. It is for this reason that many
children become street urchins. Fortunately there are still
many families in the East and some in the West who deeply
defy the corrupting trends of today and look after their
children and bring them up properly.
But still I
must say that the children in the East are not that much
ruined as they are in the West. The reason, also, is that in
the East there are many people who have not taken to
fundamentalist culture or to the Western culture and have a
very good society and produce children who are exceptionally
good although this number may not be very great. But
whatever culture they have inherited, since long,
traditionally, is very much ingrained in them and to them
the moral value system is the highest, more than money or
power.
The West is
now full of problems. Though they have money, they don't
have peace within and without. The truth is that women are
the potential power of every civilization and every country.
It is evident that women are the creators and the preservers
of the entire humankind. This is the role that the almighty
God has assigned to them. Seeds cannot create anything by
themselves. It is the Mother Earth which provides the
flowers and the fruits and other bounties. Similarly, it is
the woman who creates the child, who nurtures the baby and
eventually brings up the citizen of tomorrow. Women must
therefore rank with Mother Earth as the edifice of the
entire humanity. Unfortunately, men have utilized muscle
power to gain a dominating position over women. They have
not recognized that women are complementary and equal but
not similar partners in human endeavors. A society that does
recognize this fundamental truth and does not given to women
their rightful role is not a civilized society.
In my own
country there is a saying in Sanskrit, "Yatra nayra
pujyante tatra ramante devata" , which means that
"Where the women are respected and respectable,
there resides the Gods of our well-being". So it is
for us, at this moment, to recognize the value of this great
power that is given to us by our Creator. But what do we
find? Whether in the East or in the West, women have not
been able to give a full manifestation of their greatness. I
am not suggesting at all that the only role of women in
society is that of The Mother, the pro-creator and preserver
of children, or that of a wife, or a sister. Women have a
full right to participate as equal partners in every aspect
of life; social, cultural, educational, political,
economical, administrative and the rest. In order to prepare
themselves for this all pervading role, they must have the
right to education in all branches of knowledge. But if they
are mothers, they have a great responsibility towards their
children as well as their society. Men are responsible for
the politics and economics of the country but women are
responsible for the society. Women can also support men and
they can take leading part, of course, in any position but,
it is very important that they should not forget that they
are women who have to manifest deep motherly concern and
love. If they become manly and aggressive the balance of
society cannot be maintained.
At the same
time I must submit that while we ask for the rights of women
we must also stress the fundamental duties of women to the
human society. The women in the West, or those who are
educated in the West, have gone to the other extreme when
they are taking to political, economical or administrative
role. To compete with men they have become much too
self-willed, self-centered and ambitious. They have no more
their soothing and pleasing qualities which can keep the
balance. On the contrary, they become dominating,
pleasure-seeking individuals. They are far more worried
about their physical attractions than having a pleasing,
sweet and dignified personality. They give into their baser
self much faster than men, wittingly or unwittingly. All
this leads to chaotic societies and children grow up into
street urchins, thieves and even murderers as we read
everyday in the paper. What we need is a balance between the
two extremes. We need women as equal but not similar
partners wit h men, but with a subtle understanding of the
nature of men and how to bring them into the centre with
inner balance. We need balanced women in order to have a
balanced human race with peace within itself. You might say
all this is excellent in thought, but how do we achieve this
state of balance? How do we stem the tide of diseases,
corruption, immorality and immaturity. How do we end the
present state of conflict and conf usion? How do we bring
about peace within every mind and heart? I very humbly
submit that there is an answer to these questions. There is
a new way.
Whatever I am
going to tell you now is not be taken for granted. You
should, of course, have your minds open like scientists and
treat whatever I am stating as a hypothesis. If this
hypothesis can be proved, then you have to accept it as
honest persons as the absolute truth because it is for your
benevolence. It is for the benevolence of your family, It is
for the benevolence of your country and for the benevolence
of the whole world.
I am here to
tell you about the last breakthrough of our evolution. This
breakthrough of our evolution in our awareness has to happen
in these modern times and has been , moreover, recorded in
the writings of many seers. These are the times called as
the "Decadent Times" last called by the great
saint Vyasa who has written the Gita, and it is the
decadence of humanity that we see around in every way
possible.
Now I would
like to tell the secret knowledge of our inner being which
was known in India thousands of years back. For our
evolution and spiritual ascent there is a residual power
within us which is located in the triangular bone at the
base of our spine. This residual power is known as Kundalini.
Though the knowledge of this power was available thousands
of years back in India, the awakening of the Kundalini
was done, traditionally, on an individual basis only. One
guru would given awakening to one disciple. As a result of
that awakening, what happens is that you achieve your self-realisation,
your self-hood. Secondly, when this power is awakened, it
rises and passes through six subtle energy centres in your
body, nourishing them and integrating them. Ultimately, this
power breaks through the fontanel bone area called as the Talu
or the Brahmarandra and connects you to the
all-pervading power of Divine love, which is described in
the bible also as the "cool breeze of the Holy
Ghost" also in the Koran as "Ruh" and
also in the Indian scriptures as "Paramchaitanya".
Patanjali has called it as "Ritambhara Pragya".
Whatever the name, this is a power which is all-pervading,
which does all the subtle works of living process, of
evolutionary process. The existence of this all-pervading
energy is not felt before realisation but after self-realisation
you can feel it on your finger tips or at the centre of your
palm or above the fontanel bone area.
Moreover,
this process has to be spontaneous, "Sahaja".
"Saha" means "with" and "ja"
means "born". That means the right to get this
union with the all-pervading power of Divine love is the
birth right of every human being. Our mental energies are
limited. Our limited mental energy, which is linear in
movement and has not sustenance of reality, reaches a point
and stops. From there it boomerangs and all that mental,
linear movement comes back to us as a punishment sometimes.
So now we need more energy, higher energy, deeper energy and
for that this happening has to take place.
I must say
that in the West, I have met many people who are true
seekers of Truth and are fed up of artificiality of the
Western life. Also they didn't know what they were seeking
sometimes and they have made lots of mistakes. They have
gone to false gurus who have taken lots of money and the
people have become bankrupts and mentally and physically
handicapped. The one thing you must note is that the
awakening of the Kundalini and thus achieving self-realisation
is a living process of evolution for which we cannot pay
anything. It is like putting a seed in the Mother Earth. It
sprouts because Mother Earth has the power to sprout it and
the seed has an in-built germinating quality within it. In
the same way we have this germinating power in the
triangular bone which Greeks called as Sacrum. Actually in
some people you can see this triangular bone pulsating and
the Kundalini very slowly rising, but where there are
no obstructions and if the person is a balance being, the Kundalini
rises form the Sacrum just like a jet and passes through the
fontanel bone area to become one with the all-pervading
power. This Kundalini is the spiritual mother of
every individual and She knows or has recorded all the past
aspirations of Her child. She is anxious to give second
birth to Her child and during Her ascent, She nourishes six
energy centres. When a person is not connected to the all
pervading power, he is like an instrument which is not
connected to the mains and has no identity, has no meaning,
has no purpose. As soon as it is connected, all that is
built in inside this instrument starts working and
manifesting itself. When this Kundalini rises it
connects you to the all pervading power, which is vital and
which is an ocean of knowledge as well as an ocean of bliss.
After the awakening of Kundalini, you experience many
coincidences which are miraculous and extremely blissful.
Above all Kundalini is the ocean of forgiveness. So
what ever mistakes you have committed in the past are
forgiven and instead you get your self-realisation as a
blessing.
The
consequences of the awakening of the Kundalini and
thereby the attainment of self-realisation are numerous.
First and foremost, such a person is constantly in contact
with or is in fact a part of the all pervading Divine power.
He seeks the truth by using his new awareness. And truth is
one, all self-realised persons see this same truth. Thus
conflicts are avoided. Purely mental activity without self-realisation,
leads to conflicting ideas and even wars. All this is
avoided after self-realisation. Now, let us see how many
other things happen in a person who gets realisation.
Firstly you start feeling the cool breeze of the Holy Ghost
on your fingertips, which represent the subtle energy
centres. Thus you know the truth on your finger tips. You
transcend all the limitations of race, religion and other
ideas and you go beyond your mind to see and feel the
reality and understand it. The next thing that happens is
that you become thoughtlessly aware. We live in the future
and the past through our thoughts. They come to us from
these two areas of time but we cannot be in the present.
While these thoughts are rising and falling we are jumping
on the cusp of these thoughts. But when Kundalini
rises She elongates these thoughts and thereby creates some
space in-between which is the present, which is the reality.
So the past is over and the future doesn't exist. At that
time you have no thoughts. You reach a new state as you
become thoughtlessly aware about which Jung has written
clearly. At this moment whatsoever happens is recorded in
your memory well and you enjoy every moment of this in
reality. When you become thoughtlessly aware then you become
completely peaceful within yourself.
A person who
has achieved this peace also emits peace and creates a
peaceful atmosphere around himself. This peace is very
important. Unless and until we have this peace we will never
truly understand whatever our ideas are, whether universal
or just limited. You can feel your own seven centres on your
fingertips. Also you can feel the centres of others because
you develop a new level of awareness which is called as
collective consciousness. When such new awareness is
established into you, you start feeling also the centres of
others. I must tell you that these centres are responsible
for our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being
and when they are affected or they are in jeopardy, people
suffer from one disease or another. As a result of the
awakening of the Kundalini and the nourishment of
these centres, an important development would be that you
will feel an inner balance and you will enjoy good health.
Many diseases, even some incurable ones, have been cured by
the awakening of the Kundalini. Even the data base of
the inherited genes may be restructured after sel f-realisation
through the awakening of the Kundalini. As a result,
a person who might have inherited genes indicating criminal
tendency might become a good man.

also becomes very pure. In the light of the spirit we can
see things much more clearly than when we were blind. For
example, a person who goes with his blind eyes and feels an
elephant and then another comes in and a third comes in, all
of them have different ideas about the elephant, depending
on whichever part of the elephant they have touched. But if
they open their eyes then they can all see the same thing,
the reality and there will be no quarrel and fights.
A self-realised
person can feel the absolute knowledge on the fingertips.
Supposing someone doesn't believe in God. A self-realised
person can suggest to the non-believer that he should ask
the question: "Is there God?" The questioner will
get, you will find, a very nice cool breeze coming into his
being. He may not believe in God but there is God.
Unfortunately, so many of those who believe in God are also
absurd, hypocritical, cruel, weird and so immoral that
people have lost faith in God, But while those who represent
God may be wrong, God himself exists and his power also
exists which we call as the all-pervading power of Divine
love. This is the power of love and compassion and not of
aggression and destruction when it is imbibed in a yogi or
in a self-realised person, it works in a very different way
like an angel. Such people can cure others and cure
themselves. Even mental cases have been cured. Not only
that. Even those who have been to wrong gurus in their
search of truth have achieved their spiritual stability
after leaving false gurus and coming to the path of self-realisation.
In the next
stage, you become thoughtlessly aware, when your Kundalini
is stabilised and you know undoubtedly that you have
achieved your self-realisation, that you have attained all
the powers that can be utilised. You become very powerful
because you can raise the Kundalini of others. You
become very active and you don't feel tired easily. For
example, I am seventy three years of age and I am traveling
about every third day, but I am quite alright. This energy
flows into you and fills you up with vitality. You become
extremely dynamic and at the same time extremely
compassionate, kind and mild. You feel that you are
protected and thus you are confident but not egotistical.
Your whole personality changes. This is the kind of global
transformation which is taking place with such a speed all
over that I, myself, am surprised at how it is working out
so fast.
Actually,
this knowledge existed a long time back but my contribution,
if there is any, is that we can now achieve en-masse
realisation. Thousands can achieve mass realisation. It is a
gift of this time where it was predicted that such global
transformation will take place. In as many as 65 countries,
thousands of people have attained their self-realisation
through Sahaja Yoga.
The power of Kundalini
is the pure desire of attaining your selfhood. If someone
doesn't want to have it, you cannot force him because the
Divine respects the freedom of that person. If he wants to
go to heaven, he can go there, or if he wants to go to hell,
he can go to hell. Self-realisation can be attained easily
if the people have a sincere and pure desire to get their
self-realisation. But if they stick to some of their ideas,
which are fixed, the Kundalini won't rise. Also it
cannot work for idiots or for immature people. It works for
people who are wise, who are more in the centre, and it
works very fast. I was amazed to see that it has worked even
on people who were drug addicts , who were alcoholics and
who were very immoral. But they all had an intense and pure
desire to secure self-improvement, self-realisation. So many
of such people achieved their goal of self-realisation.
Overnight, they gave up their drugs, their alcoholism . Thus
you become very powerful and at the same time you understand
that yo u are now glorified and you start behaving in a very
dignified and a very sensible manner. This is how a new
culture is born and this new culture takes you , in a way,
into a new style of life where you become innately, I say
innately, righteous. Nobody has to tell you: "Don't do
this" and "Don't do that". It is all achieved
through your enlightened attention. This enlightened
attention is also full of power. Wherever you put your
attention it works, it creates peace, it creates harmony and
also it creates a new dimension of collective consciousness.
So to blame
your genes for your mistakes is not going to work out
anymore because these genes can be changed in their database
and can be brought to the level of a very righteous, angelic
personality. The ego and the conditioning of a person gets
dissolved by the ascent of the Kundalini and he
becomes really a free bird. Absolute freedom is achieved in
reality and his behavior changes tremendously with great
faith in himself. He becomes a witness of the whole drama of
life. When you are in the water you are afraid of getting
drowned, but supposing you get into a boat, you can watch
the same waters with enjoyment. But if you learn how to jump
in the water and save others then it is even a higher
situation and so we have a higher awareness which we call as
doubtless awareness. Above all, we fall into the ocean of
joy. Joy is absolute. It doesn't have duality. It is not
like happiness and unhappiness. It is a singular thing and
once you jump into it you learn easily how to enjoy
everything, whether it is beautiful or ridiculous. In one
case you see the beauty; in the other you see the humour as
to how people are ridiculous. The remarkable thing is that
Sahaja Yogis have become great musicians, great writers,
great speakers, great administrators. In every way they have
rise very high, specially in their attitude toward others.
They respect everyone and they know what is wrong with other
people so that they can approach them carefully, gently to
see that thi s person who has these problems can be easily
evolved and become a self-realised soul. It is like one
candle lighting another candle. This work is going on all
over the world and there is great hope that it will also
start in China. Before this, somehow, I could not start my
work but the Divine coincidence has given a chance to me by
this conference to talk to Chinese people, who I find very
wise and sensitive, about the great treasure of
spirituality. This is not a coincidence. It was inevitable
and has been brought about by this all-pervading power. In
your life also you will notice lots of coincidences but you
will not know how to connect them to something that is
Divine unless and until you get connected to the Divine
power.
Confucius has
taught the humanity how we can improve our relations with
other human beings. But Lao Tse in China has very
beautifully described Tao, meaning the Kundalini.
And I have had a voyage through the Yangtze River through
which Lao Tse had gone many times. I know he was trying to
show that this river which is the Kundalini, is
flowing towards the sea and one should not be tempted by the
nature that is around. The nature around the Yangtze River
is very, very beautiful, no doubt, but one has to go through
the river. Also there are lots of currents which flow and
can be quite dangerous and we need a good navigator who
should take his ship across to the point where it is nearer
the sea. At that stage it becomes very silent and extremely
simple in its flow.
This country
has been endowed with great philosophers, I would say the
greatest was Lao Tse, because humanism was for the
preparation of human beings for their ascent about which Lao
Tse had spoken. But because of the subtle subject it was not
described in such a clear-cut manner as I am talking to you.
It is such a pleasure for me to talk to this august
gathering here. After traveling all over the world, I
realise that China is one of the best countries as far as
spirituality is concerned.
May
the Divine bless you all."

"Admission
to the patriarchal temples of power — once restricted to
men only — is now open to women, provided they uphold the
time-honored rules and do not rise up too high in the
hierarchy.
While
this is certainly an improvement over the earlier exclusion
of women, the real work of dismantling the patriarchy at its
foundation has barely begun. One urgent aspect that is only
just now beginning to appear is for men to acquire the
freedom to become more like women. This means men being able
to develop not only the stereotypical "feminine"
qualities that Robert Bly seems to fear — but also the
deeper feminine wisdom, spirit, eros, and compassion,
coupled with the vital epistemological shift that feminine
consciousness naturally fosters in the human psyche.
Men
today are threatened by this. What would happen to their
"masculinity"? Men seem to forget their origins.
They weren't just "nourished by their mother" in
infancy and childhood, they were created in the womb
of woman. They were born into their very existence
through the vagina of woman. Men are feminine creations.
Their bodies were conceived in the headwaters of menstrual
flow — then sculptured and energized with the life force
of the feminine. Of course this is also true of woman, but
women tend to know this instinctively; their bodies are a
continual, unmediated reminder. Men seem to have lost this
realization, and with it much of the awe and wonder of their
own existence. As I see it, all human beings — and indeed
all living things and all manifest entities — are
ultimately feminine creations. To me, this is cause for
great joy, celebration, and wonder — because the feminine
is the source of all manifest creation.
In
no way does this detract from the masculine, on either the
cosmic level or the relative level of men and manhood. I
love living in a man's body and feeling my masculine
nature, and at the deepest level I sense that the feminine
and masculine nature are ontologically equal and magnificent
cosmic forces. Indeed, every human being embodies both the
masculine and feminine principles — engaged in a glorious
dance of eternal creation that gives birth to our existence
from moment to moment. If we could but live out this
harmonious wonder in our everyday lives!"

"Myth,
Ritual, and Community. Humans need community and
rituals to tell stories, pass on wisdom, celebrate life,
mourn loss, and mark life changes. But with the shifting
nature of families and the mobility of individuals,
meaningful community life has all but disappeared for many
Americans. The New Age interest in world mythology, and what
Jung called the universal archetypes, is motivated by the
desire to restore a sense of sacred to everyday life."

""Whereas
worldly ambitions, riches, and (especially) discursive
knowledge scatter the person and drain his energies, the
saint "embraces Unity" or "holds fast to the
One" (pao i); that is, he inspires to union with the
Tao in a primordial undivided state underlying
consciousness. "Embracing Unity" also means that
he maintains the balance of Yin and Yang within himself and
the union of his spiritual (hun) and vegetative (p'o)
souls, the dispersion of which spells death ...
The
spiritual soul tends to wander (in dreams), and any passion
or desire can result in loss of soul. To retain and
harmonize one's soul is important for physical life as
well as for the unification of the whole human entity.
Cleansed of every distraction, the saint creates inside
himself a void that in reality is plenitude. Empty of all
impurity, he is full of the original energy (yuan ch'i),
which is the principle of life that in the ordinary man
decays from the moment of birth on.
Because
vital energy and spirituality are nor clearly distinguished,
old age in itself becomes a proof of sainthood. The aged
Taoist sage becomes a saint because he had been able to
cultivate himself throughout a long existence; his longevity
in itself was the proof of his saintliness and union with
Tao. Externally he had a healthy, flourishing appearance and
inside he contained an ever-flowing source of energy that
manifested itself in radiance and in a powerful, beneficial
influence on his surroundings, which is the charismatic
efficacy (te) of the Tao."

"Bahai
tolerance extends to gender, and some of the statements of
Baha'uAllah and Abdul Baha seem well ahead of their time
in this regard: "The world in the past has been ruled
by force and man has dominated over women by reason of his
more forceful and aggressive qualities both of body and
mind," Abdul Baha said in Paris in 1911. "But the
scales are already shifting, force is losing its weight, and
mental alertness, intuition, and the spiritual qualities of
love and service, in which woman is strong, are gaining
ascendancy. Hence the new age will be an age less masculine
and more permeated with the feminine ideal, or, to speak
more exactly, will be an age in which the masculine and
feminine elements of civilization will be properly
balanced." "

"The
personality of a spiritually undeveloped human being is
confined to its material form of appearance, its physical
body. The personality of a spiritually advanced man
comprises not only the material part of his form of
appearance, but also his mental, psychic and spiritual
functions: his 'consciousness-body', which reaches far
beyond the limits of his physical body.
In
a man, who lives in his ideals or in thoughts, which go
beyond the realm of individual interests and experiences,
this 'consciousness-body' extends into the realm of the
beautiful, of creative power, of aesthetic enjoyment and
intuitive insight. To the enlightened man, however, whose
consciousness embraces the universe, to him the universe
becomes his 'body', while his physical body becomes a
manifestation of the Universal Mind, his inner vision an
expression of the highest reality, and his speech an
expression of eternal truth and mantric power."

"The
question "What is the atman?" is a predominantly
intellectual question. Even assuming that one discovers
oneself to be the atman, this atman will always remain the
predicate of the sentence expressing it —"I am the
atman" — and thus one will never be able to bridge
the gulf between the subject and the predicate. The
authentic and personal question about the subject has then
to take the form, not of asking what, or even who, is the
atman, but what or rather who am I? It is here that neti,
neti enters upon the scene: not this, not that. Nothing
answers the question adequately. I am not my body (only), I
am not my mind (alone), I am not (exclusively) what I am
today or was yesterday or shall be tomorrow. We are not
asking what the I is, but searching out who I am, who I am
in the deepest recesses of my being, who I am in the last
analysis, who I ultimately am as mover and lover and knower
and being or whatever. It is obvious that this ultimate I
can in no way be identified with a psychological ego.
It
is here that the aham brahman dawns, when the real aham that
is Brahman is able to reenact in and through me the true
statement of the mahavakya. The I that can say this is in
truth the real I and the only real and true I. Only the
realized Man can say in truth aham-brahman. All the rest is
secondhand knowledge and superimposed wisdom, mere hearsay.
The intuition of the I as the I and the only unique I
represents the highest wisdom. From this point of view to
call God the Other or, even worse, the totally Other is
perhaps sheer blasphemy and blatant anthropocentrism. He who
worships the divinity as another, says one Upanishad, and
thinks that he is one thing and God another, does not know."

"In
orthodox Christian theology, the afterlife is a heaven of
the skies where there are "golden streets" and
presumably riches for all. It is almost beyond comprehension
how this heaven "up there" became so rooted in the
religious thinking of the Western world, especially since
Jesus clearly located it: "The kingdom of God cometh
not with observation ... for, behold, the kingdom of God
is within you" (Lk. 17-20-21 KJV).
Jesus
was not talking about a place in space but a dimension of
our minds, and he was saying that within every person there
is limitless life, limitless substance, and open to infinite
intelligence. Lack of any kind in human experience is the
result of some sort of obstruction in the free flow of the
creative process."

"The
Christian Gnostics practiced a spirituality more
similar to Eastern traditions than to the Western
Christianity we know today. "Gnostic" is
Greek for "knower" and it is
"Gnosis" or "Knowledge" that they
were seeking. Unlike the blind faith demanded by
today's Churches, 'Gnosis' meant direct, mystical
experience of the divine, which was to be found by
individual spiritual evolution to Self-Realisation,
and not within the confines of intellectual dogma. The
experience of Gnosis was trans-rational and
non-intellectual.
From the Nag Hammadi Library, the Book of Thomas,
Christ tells us "For whoever does not know self,
does not know anything, but whoever knows self,
already has acquired knowledge about the depth of the
universe". Compare this with a tract from the
Upanishads, the Indian metaphysical treatise on Self
Realisation: "It is not by argument that the self
is known... Distinguish the self from the body and
mind. The self, the atman, the highest refuge of all,
pervades the Universe and dwells in the hearts of all.
Those who are instructed in the self and who practice
constant meditation attain that changeless and self
effulgent atman ( spirit/ self). Do Thou Likewise, for
bliss eternal lies before you..."
In another gnostic text, the Secret Gospel of Thomas,
Christ promises us spiritual fulfilment "I shall
give you what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard,
what no hand has touched and what has never arisen in
the human mind." This description is not unlike
the Upanishadic experience "the Self is devoid of
birth and death, it neither grows old nor decays and
the accidents of life do not affect it. The Self
transcends space and time; what is great is not too
great for it to comprehend and what is small is not
too small to escape its attention. It is the Self of
All".
Just as Christ warned us against sin and encourages
moral perfection in the pursuit of spiritual
fulfilment, so too do the Eastern texts "No
intellectual acumen can help one realise it, it can be
realised only by those who surrender to it and who
make themselves worthy by grace, by desisting from all
that is sinful, who engage in the practice of
perfection by constant meditation"( Upanishads).
The most ancient Eastern spiritual texts, the Vedas,of
India, tell us that the process of spiritual awakening
by which one attains truth -awareness is called 'Self-Realisation'.
The Self Realised person lives in direct experience of
reality—this is called "Jnana" ( a
traditional sanskrit word meaning 'knowledge' or
'Gnosis'). Such a person is called a "Jnani"
('knower ' or 'gnostic' ) or "dwijaha"
('twice born'; first from a human mother to the
earthly plane then secondly as a child of the Goddess,
or Divine Mother, who gives the seeker their second,
spiritual birth, Self Realisation, into the plane of
mystic awareness- gnosis! ). The traditional Indian
texts extol the 'Divine Mother' as the Cosmic
Matriarch, bestower of the highest treasure of Self
Realisation upon Her deserving children. Many Indian
mystic traditions say this same goddess is represented
within the human being as the divine feminine power
called Kundalini.
What of Western tradition? In the Secret Book of John
Christ explains that human redemption before the
Heavenly Father occurs by the mediation of a Divine
Feminine principle, which he calls the Earthly Mother.
It is the Earthly Mother who removes the sins of the
children that they can become worthy of their divine
heritage; "when all sins and all uncleanesses are
gone from your body, your blood shall become as pure
as our Earthly Mother's blood and as pure as the
river's foam sporting in the sunlight. And your breath
shall become as pure as the breath of odorous flowers;
your flesh as pure as the flesh of fresh fruits
reddening upon the leaves of trees; the light of your
eye as clear and bright as the brightness of the sun
shining upon the blue sky. And now shall all the
angels of the Earthly Mother serve you and your
breath, your blood, your flesh shall be one with the
breath, the blood and the flesh of the Earthly Mother,
that your spirit also become one with the Spirit of
your Heavenly Father. For truly no-one can reach the
Heavenly Father unless through the Heavenly Mother.
Even as the newborn babe cannot understand the
teaching of his father until his mother has suckled
him, bathed him, nursed him, put him to sleep and
nurtured him". The Earthly Mother is a divine
mediator through which the seekers, the Sons of Man,
are raised to the Heavenly Father. Another part of the
same text says "Honour your Earthly Mother and
keep her laws that your days may be long on this earth
and honour your Heavenly Father, that eternal life may
be yours in the Heavens. For the Heavenly Father is a
hundred times greater than all the fathers by seed and
by blood, and greater is the Earthly Mother than all
mothers by the body". The Holy Trinity, then is
God the Father, God the Son (ie. Christ) and, it
seems, God The Mother. The Divine Mother particularly
is the means and power of spiritual evolution.
The Secret Book of John relates Christ's description
of the Divine Feminine as the power of God Almighty.
"She is the first power. She preceded everything,
and came forth from the Father's mind as forethought
of all. Her light resembles the Father's light; as the
perfect power She is the image of the perfect and
invisible Virgin Spirit. She is the first power, the
glory, Barbello, the perfect glory among the worlds,
the emerging glory, She glorified and praised the
Virgin Spirit for she had come forth through the
Spirit. She is the first thought, image of the Spirit.
She became the universal womb, for She precedes
everything, the common parent, the first humanity, the
Holy Spirit". The Holy Spirit is here described
as the Divine Power of God Himself. This power is
maternal in its character (universal womb, She, the
common parent) and all powerful as the 'first
emanation of God'. More so, She is pure (Virgin) and
She glorifies purity. So ancient christian tradition
seems to tell us that the holy spirit is actually the
Divine Mother!
One cannot overlook the Eastern parallels. God
Almighty in Indian mythology is represented as Sada-Shiva.
His state is eternal perfection (Sat Chit Ananda). His
power is the Adi Shakti (primordial power) who is His
feminine counterpart or spouse. It is She who does all
things. She created the universe and the gods who
attend over it (for example, the triune Shiva, Brahma,
Vishnu). The Adi Shakti is The Mother of all things.
She gave birth to the universe and is the feminine
power of every deity and celestial being (usually
represented as their spouse). The Secret Book of John
parallels this "She became the universal womb,
for She precedes everything, the common parent, the
first humanity, the Holy Spirit, the triple male
(Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu?) the triple power (Parvati,
Saraswati, Lakshmi, who are spouses of the triple
males-or the triple Goddess of Western mythological
tradition?)". Thus the Christian mystics
understood that the Holy Spirit is the Divine
Feminine, the Goddess, the Universal Mother herself.
The Syriac Christians worshiped the Holy Ghost as the
Great Mother. Phillip suggests that Mary Herself is
the Holy Spirit (for who else but God The Mother can
give birth to God the Son?). Other Apocryphal
Scriptures describe Mary as the focus of Temple
activities. Her early life was punctuated by
auspicious portents all implying her own Divinity.
Just as Mary and the Holy Ghost appear to parallel
aspects of the Divine Mother described in the East, so
too does Christ, the son of God reflect the Eastern
principle of the Divine Child. The Divine Child in the
Eastern mythological tradition is commonly worshiped
as the dual child-gods Ganesha and Kartikeya. Ganesha
represents the fabric of the cosmos, the primordial
Aum or Logos from which the creation was constructed.
Christ affirmed the same primordial nature of himself
when he said "I am the first" and "I am
the alpha". Ganesha is the primordial child who
is the embodiment of purity and innocence. Similarly
Christ venerated children and the innocence that they
manifested. He even urged the apostles (and us) to
cultivate our own childlike innocence " let the
children come to me for the kingdom of heaven belongs
to such as these" and "assuredly whoever
does not receive the kingdom of god as a little child
will by no means enter it"(Mark 10). Kartikeya is
the same principle of innocence in dynamic action- the
slayer of evil; as Christ did when he ejected the
money lenders from the temple.
So, Christ seems to be telling us that the kingdom of
Heaven, which is a state of God-like perfection and
child-like innocence is attained by some inner
phenomenon. In the Gnostic Scriptures Christ spoke
directly of this as an inner transformation, self
realisation. He also told us that the Holy Ghost or
Divine Mother is the power by which this is
accomplished, but by what mechanism?
Let's take lateral look at the Indian tradition of
Kundalini of which many local saints have spoken.
Shankaracharya (700AD) and Gyaneshwara (1200AD) are
two well known mystic exponents of Kundalini. They
both describe the actualisation of self-realisation in
their classic poetry, such as the Saundarya-Lahari,
Sivananda-Lahari and the Gyaneshwari (itself a
commentary on the Kundalini Yoga described by Krishna
in the Bhagavad Gita ). They describe a force of pure
(virgin) spirituality, which lies dormant within the
human being.
By constant purification and self perfection the seven
vital energy centres (chakras) which govern all
aspects of mind, body and soul, are prepared for the
awakening of Kundalini. Once awakened by divine grace,
the Kundalini passes through these centres, not unlike
a string through beads, enlightening each as it passes
through. Arriving at the seventh centre (Sahasrara)
the seeker's awareness is united with the
eternal-self-within. The experience is transrational,
non causal, a tangible and real bliss of
truth-awareness. Indian mystics called the Sahasrara
"Paradise", "Heaven" or, as Christ
has called it "The Kingdom of God within".
As the Kundalini passes through each of the vital
centres, they are stimulated to produce a pure,
nourishing energy. The Vedas (Ancient Scriptures of
India) describe this energy as a sacred river emitted
by each of the seven chakras. Shankaracharya called
this energy "spun". He too described its
nature as being like divine water showering down upon
him as he meditated in the ecstacy of devotion. Other
Indian scriptures call this energy "Paramchaitanya"
(energy of supreme consciousness). The miracle of
Whitsunday wherein the Apostles became empowered with
their spirituality sounds similar to the experience of
these chakras manifesting this same divine energy.
Shankaracharya said "All Glory unto the current
of Divine Bliss which, brimming from the river of Thy
Holy stories, flows into the lake of my mind, through
the canals of intellect, subduing the dust of sin and
cooling the heat of memory". Much of the gnostic
texts repeat this ancient Eastern understanding.
Consider this tract from the Book of Hymns of the Dead
Sea Scrolls: "I have reached the inner vision and
through Thy Spirit in me I have heard Thy wondrous
secret, through Thy mystic insight Thou hast caused a
spring of knowledge to well up within me, a fountain
of power, pouring forth living waters, a flood of love
and of all embracing wisdom, like the splendour of
eternal light". The "fountain of
power", "spring of knowledge",
"Living water", "flood of love",
"eternal light" all directly describe the
experience of Kundalini awakening! Consider this from
the Nag Hammadi Library, the Apocryphal Gospel of
Phillip "The Tree of Life is in the centre of
Paradise, as is the oil tree from which the anointment
Chrisma comes. The Chrism is the source of
resurrection". Krishna, the divine being,
c4000BC, also described the Kundalini as an inverted
Tree of spirituality, whose roots lay in the brain.
The 'Tree of Life' is a well recognised symbolic
parallel of the Kundalini. So too is the Holy Grail,
the cup from which Christ drank at the last supper its
symbolic significance being that Christ's sustenance
arose from a cup, that is, an object whose receptive
qualities reflect the nature of the divine feminine —
yet another parallel of the Kundalini.
It is likely that St Phillip's 'Chrisma' is the same
'spun' described by Shankaracharya, the 'Paramchaitanya'
or in Christian terminology 'God's grace'. In the
Gospel of Peace, Christ explains that the experience
of spirituality is foremost. He says the Scriptures
are merely conveying an intellectual knowledge, but we
are to have the 'living knowledge', that is the
experience of our own spirituality. He says "Seek
not the law in your Scriptures for the law is life,
whereas the Scripture is dead. I tell you truly Moses
received not his laws from God as writing but through
the living word. The law is living word for living God
to living prophets for living men. In everything that
is life to the law is the law written, for I tell you
truly all living things are nearer to God than the
Scripture which is without life. I tell you truly that
the Scripture is the work of man, but life and all its
hosts are the work of our God. Wherefore do you not
listen to the words of God which are written in his
works? And wherefore do you study the dead Scriptures
which are from the hands of men?". That is, seek
the divine experience which is beyond definition, do
not settle for mundane human interpretations of the
mystic's suprahuman experience. Thus Christ's law is a
living, cosmic and experiential one, and is actuated
by the awakening of the spiritual experience within
the seeker, not by intellectual study or by following
those who themselves have not truly had the
experience. This directly parallels the eastern
teachings; that self- realisation, the pure spiritual
awakening, is attained by the righteous and itself
gives greater righteousness. More so, self realisation
is a process of genuine, inner spiritual
transformation which must be experienced to be
understood, since it lies beyond the domain of
scriptural description or theological definition.
Since it is gained by the grace of the Divine Mother(
Holy Spirit) alone, it is most certainly not possible
to organise or institutionalise this experience in
human terms.
This contrasts with the way in which the Churches have
pigeonholed and categorised Christianity in terms of
'blind faith', 'obedience to the church' and empty
ritual. In the Gnostic Scriptures, untouched by the
organised churches, Christ urges us to perceive and
experience the cosmic order for ourselves and not to
rely on so-called scriptural authorities—such as
the churches—to prescribe it to us.
C.G. Jung recognised the link between the Divine
Feminine and the Eastern principle of Kundalini. He
understood that the Kundalini was the representation
of the Goddess within each of us. Is the Holy Ghost
the Kundalini? Was the Kundalini a central principle
in early mystic Christianity? Such an assumption would
help us reinterpret many parts of the mainstream
bible, for example; In the Gospel of John, Christ
explains to the Pharisee Nicodemus, " Verily I
say unto thee, except a man be born of water and the
spirit; he cannot enter the kingdom of God", this
second birth far from being a licence for so many born
again Christian fundamentalists is something much more
mystical and subtle in nature. To be "born of the
water and the spirit" describes the awakening of
Kundalini. She is often described as a divine mother
whose ascent within the spine of the seeker gives them
rebirth into mystic/gnostic awareness, the 'divine
water' is its nourishing energy. The Kundalini enters
the Sahasrara and there unites the seeker's awareness
with the self or spirit. This is described as a
blissful, infinite experience of the kingdom of God
within. Thus, Christ's 'born again' Christianity might
actually refer to those Christians who have entered
the realm of direct experience of divinity, in the
state of self realisation.
Other Canon (mainstream) Scriptures can be more deeply
understood in this light. In the Gospel of Matthew,
Christ says "Be Ye Perfect, even as Your Father
which is in Heaven is perfect". (Ch.5, v. 48).
This is a clear exhortation by Christ to strive and
achieve spiritual perfection, just as the Buddha and
other Eastern sages taught their disciples. Christ
tells us about our innately divine nature "Ye are
Gods" (Psalm 82, v.6; John 10, v.34). Furthermore
"Behold the Kingdom of God is within you"
(Luke 17, v.21), that is the experience of Heaven is
an internal phenomenon. This implies that the inner
state of the seeker is the source of their spiritual
fulfilment. We could well say that Christ's idea of
Heavenly Salvation was an internal state of Godlike
perfection.
When the seeker's awareness is completely united with
the Eternal Spirit/Self/Atman the true self (not ego,
mind, intellect, personality, body or memory) is
experienced or realised. Since the spirit is no less
than a reflection of God itself then in the state of
complete Self Realisation the seeker experiences
perfection" as our Father in Heaven is
perfect". The Eastern term for this state of Self
Realisation is God Realisation and it represents the
final stage of our spiritual evolution.
There are deeper references to the chakras and
kundalini in the Scriptures. For example, Revelations
may also symbolically describe the chakras in St.
John's spiritual vision;" I saw seven standing
lamps of gold" (the chakras emitting the divine
light?), John sees Christ as one of the seven lamps
(you will see the significance of this later), Christ
is holding the "seven stars" (demonstrating
his command of the chakra system?) and speaks of the
"seven churches" (the divine institution
within each chakra?).In Genesis Jacob envisions a
divine ladder directly connecting his earthly being
with God in Heaven- this precisely describes the
experience and purpose of the kundalini!
Consider this idea: The term 'Jesus of Nazareth', does
not (say German theologians) relate to Christ's times
in Nazareth. Proper understanding of the original
language shows that such a term is not linguistically
possible (despite the fact that Paul uses it). The
original term is more likely, "Jesus the Nazareen."
Nazareen is an Aramaic word meaning "one who has
bound himself to the service of God" or "one
who is anointed." Compare this to the meaning of
Yoga, "Union with God" and 'Yogi'—one
who has union with god or to descriptions of the
awakening of the Kundalini, "the mystical
anointment". The Nazaria were a group of Gnostics
contemporary to Christ. They taught a mystic
spirituality similar to the Eastern ideas already
described. It has been suggested by some authorities
that this Gnostic word is ultimately derived from the
Hindustani 'Nazar.' This is a yogic term for the point
between the eyebrows and above the nose (the 'third
eye') where sages of old performed meditation. 'Nazaren'
means to envision or behold. Then a more accurate
meaning of "Jesus the Nazareen" would be
"Jesus who has Yoga or Self Realisation" or
"Jesus who meditates". Considering Christ's
status as the" Son of God" perhaps a more
appropriate meaning would be "Jesus who is the
object of meditation". Was Christ himself the
object of meditation as are many deities in Eastern
cultures? Christ himself might well be the Nazaren.
The Nazar physically corresponds to the location of
the Agnya chakra, the sixth vital chakra through which
the Kundalini must pass before She enters the
Sahasrara. The Agnya manifests physically as the
'optic chiasm' whose shape itself is cruciform! Is the
cosmic Christ represented within each of us in the
Nazar, Agnya chakra, just as the cosmic Mother or Holy
Ghost is represented within us as the Kundalini?
The position of the Agnya chakra is such that it is
the final centre to be crossed before the Kundalini
finishes its journey to the Sahasrara ( the 'Kingdom
of God within'). Entry of the Kundalini into the
Sahasara gives the blissful experience of divine
awareness. This literally explains Christ's words,
"None can enter Heaven except through me"."
