1. Kingdom Of God Has Arrived

Holy Spirit opens Kingdom of God (Sahasrara Chakra) from within
"Jesus' kingdom was not like the popular expectation. He used the phrase 'kingdom of God' with a different meaning. His kingdom was not of this world (John 18:36). It was not like the kingdoms of this world. It was the kingdom of God, a supernatural kingdom. It was invisible to most people (John 3:3)—it could not be understood or experienced without the Holy Spirit (v. 6). God is Spirit, and the kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom.”- Michael Morrison

JESUS CHRIST: THE KINGDOM OF GOD WITHIN

The Gospel of Thomas by Stevan L. Davies
The Gospel of Thomas
Stevan L. Davies (Author)

The Gospel of Thomas is more than the most exciting archaeological find of the last century, even more than another gospel to add to the four canonical ones. It is far more than another Gnostic text, or one that carries on the tradition of Jewish wisdom sayings, or, as some have also claimed, a cross between the two. These are scholarly descriptions and distinctions, fascinating and helpful in their way, but they do not begin to describe the extraordinary importance of the Gospel of Thomas, or to show how it can be used today by all sincere seekers to awaken their divine identity and to focus its powers on a radical transformation of the world.

The Gospel of Thomas really is, I believe, the clearest guide we have to the vision of the world's supreme mystical revolutionary, the teacher known as Jesus. To those who learn to unpack its sometimes cryptic sayings, the Gospel of Thomas offers a naked and dazzlingly subversive representation of Jesus' defining and most radical discovery: that the living Kingdom of God burns is us and surrounds us in the glory at all moments, and the vast and passionate love-consciousness—what you might call "Kingdom-consciousness"—can help birth it into reality. This discovery is the spiritual equivalent of Albert Einstein's and J. Robert Oppenheimer's uncovering of the potential of nuclear fission; it makes available to all humanity a wholly new level of sacred power. By fusing together a vision of God's divine world with a knowledge of how this divine world could emerge into and transfigure the human one, the Gospel of Thomas makes clear that Jesus discovered the alchemical secret of transformation that could have permanently altered world history, had it been implemented with the passion and on the scale that Jesus knew was possible. Its betrayal by the churches erected in Jesus' name has been an unmitigated disaster, one major reason for our contemporary disaster.

Unlike the Buddha, or Krishna, or any of the Eastern sages whose wisdom of transcendental knowledge left fundamentally intact the status quo of a world often characterized as illusory, the Jesus we see in the Gospel of Thomas saw and knew this world as the constant epiphany of the divine kingdom and knew too that a wholly new world could be created by divine beings, once they had seen this and allowed themselves to be transformed and empowered as he was, by divine wisdom, ecstasy, and energy. What Jesus woke up to and proceeded to enact with the fiercest and most gloriously imaginable intensity was this new life of "Kingdom-consciousness," not as a guru claiming unique status and truth—the Gospel of Thomas makes this very clear—but as a sign of what is possible for all human beings who dare to awaken to the potential splendor of their inner truth and the responsibilities for total transformation of the world that it then inspires within them.

Jesus' full revolutionary vision in all its outrageousness, grandeur, and radical passion is to be discovered in a close reading of the Gospel of Thomas. The greatest of the sayings are like the equations of physicists Werner Heisenberg or Niels Bohr—complex but intensely lucid expositions in mystical and yogic terms of the laws and potential of a new reality, an endlessly dynamic and fecund reality created by our illusory perceptions and their sterile hunger for separation, division, and stasis.

What I have discovered on my own journey into the increasingly challenging understanding of "Kingdom-consciousness" is that as I continue to uncover and develop in my own depths the "fire" that Jesus speaks of in the Gospel of Thomas, reading the sayings by the brilliant light of this "fire" becomes even more astonishing. The sayings expand in radiance, significance, and reach as I expand my own awareness of divinity and of the powers available to all those who dare to risk transformation.

What I have to offer here is a linked reading of seven of the sayings that have most inspired me. Through this linked reading, I hope to open up to seekers everywhere the full glory, as far as I understand it now, of what Jesus is trying to communicate through the Gospel of Thomas, not just to Christians but to the whole of humanity. Let us begin with saying 2:

Jesus said: The seeker should not stop until he finds. When he does find, he will be disturbed. After having been disturbed, he will be astonished. Then he will reign over everything.

This saying suggests that the Jesus who is speaking in the Gospel if Thomas is not presenting himself as a Messiah with a unique realization and a unique status of mediator. This Jesus—for me, the authentic Jesus—is like the Buddha, a human being who was awakened to the full glory of his inner divinity and so knows the secret of every human being and hungers to reveal it to change the world. The life to which Jesus is inviting everyone is not one of endless seeking, but of finding—finding the truth and power of human divinity by risking everything to uncover them.

From his own harrowing experience, Jesus knows that finding cannot be without suffering; to find out the truth and power of your inner divinity is to be "disturbed"; disturbed by the gap between your human shadow and its dark games, the abyss of light within; disturbed by the price that any authentic transformation cannot help but demand; disturbed by the grandeur you are beginning to glimpse of your real royal nature with all its burden of responsibility and solitude. Jesus knows too, however, that if you risk this disturbance and surrender to the unfolding of your divine nature, extraordinary visions will be awoken in you—visions that will astound you and drag you into what the Sufi mystics call the "kingdom of bewilderment" that "placeless place" where everything you have imagined to be true about yourself or about humanity is rubbed by the splendor of what you discover. And from this increasingly astonishing self-discovery, tremendous powers to influence and transform reality will be born in you. Just as unprecedented energy is unleashed by the splitting of an atom, so through the "splitting" of human identity to reveal the divine identity within it, a huge new transforming power is born, a ruling power, the power that great saints and sages have displayed through gifts of healing, miracles, and undaunted stamina of sacred passion and sacrifice. The seeker who becomes a finder and ruler makes a leap in evolutionary development from human being, unconscious of the Divine hidden within him or her, to an empowered divine being, capable in and under the Divine of flooding reality with the glory of the Kingdom. To reveal this secret, live it out, and release it in all its radical power, to make "finders" and rulers of us all, is why the Jesus of the Gospel of Thomas lived and preached and died.

This empowering vision of saying 2 leads naturally, as in the text itself, to the challenge of saying 3.

Jesus said: If your leaders say to you "Look! The Kingdom is in the sky!" Then the birds will be there before you are. If they say that the Kingdom is in the sea, then the fish will be there before you are. Rather the Kingdom is within you and it is outside of you. When you understand yourselves you will be understood.... If you do not know yourselves, then you exist in poverty and you are that poverty.

The savage, gorgeous radicalism of this saying should not be underestimated: Jesus is, consciously and with the most subversive imaginable scorn, mocking all versions of the spiritual journey that place the ultimate experience beyond this world, in some transcendent "otherwhere.” All the patriarchal religions and mystical transmission systems—including those conceived in Jesus' honor—subtly devalue the immanent in favor of the transcendent. This addition to transcendence with its rhetoric of "The world as an illusion" keeps intact the status quo in all its misery, horror, and injustice.

In saying 8, Jesus makes fiercely clear what daring to know the truth of yourself will demand and cost: nothing less than a total commitment to the Divine and a total reversal of the ordinary values of the untransformed world.

And he said: The man is like a thoughtful fisherman who threw his net into the sea and pulled it out full of little fish. Among all the little fish, that thoughtful fisherman found one fine large fish that would be beneficial to him and, throwing all the little fish back into the sea, he easily chose to keep the large one. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.

Superficially heard, that saying seems fairly obvious. It seems to be saying that "Kingdom-consciousness" is life's ultimate treasure and all lesser things should be given up for it. Dig deeper and you will see that the saying reveals just what this giving up of lesser things will entail. It is, after all, crazy for a fisherman trying to earn a living to throw back all the "little fish": it reverses all comfortable laws of commerce or livelihood. And this is precisely Jesus' point—one he makes relentlessly throughout the Gospel of Thomas. If you really want to become a mystical revolutionary, dedicating your life to seeing and enacting "Kingdom-consciousness," you are going to have to surrender all conventional ways of being, acting, or living, and all conventional games of status or power. You are going to have to risk the divine madness that is the true sanity of the fisherman, who so clearly sees and knows the ultimate value of "The large fine fish" that he is willing to throw back all the "little fish" and risk poverty and the contempt of his world to stay true to that divine reality that overturns and potentially transforms all worldly realities. The way of life that Jesus advocates throughout the Gospel of Thomas is in the starkest imaginable contrast to the conservative, prosperity-conscious, family-centered, rule-ridden ethos so often promulgated in his name. For the Jesus of the Gospel of Thomas, only a life of wandering poverty, abandonment to the winds of God, and resolute refusal of the false securities of dogma, authority, or worldly or conventional religious rules of conduct and purity can bring you to the state of utter authenticity and surrender that birth to the Kingdom in you and make you a revolutionary agent of its birth in reality.

From what I have said, it should now be clear why in saying 10 Jesus announces, "I have thrown fire on the world. Look! I watch it until it blazes.” The "fire" that Jesus has thrown—and is constantly throwing on the world—is the fire of a revolutionary transcendent and immanent knowledge and love that menaces all the world's political, social, economic, and religious hierarchies and elite, and all their self-serving justifications for keeping a vicious and unjust set of structures in place. The Jesus of Thomas is not the tender, often ethereal victim, or the suffering servant; he is the most fiery-eyed of revolutionaries, a being who knows he has discovered the nuclear secret of a new, potentially all-transforming power of love-in-action, and he is committed to seeing that its unleashing upon the world and transfiguration of the fire of its truth and laws take place. In saying 71, he announces cryptically," I will destroy this house"; scholars have taken him to mean that either he will bring down the Temple with all its elite and hierarchy and business policies throughout a revelation of a direct egalitarian vision of human divinity, or that he is pledged to destroying the House of Herod that is currently "defiling" the house of David. These are entirely too limiting and local interpretations of the enterprise of Jesus. The Jesus of Thomas is not a peacemaker; he is an incendiary of love, a pyromaniac of divine passion, announcing the laws of a transformed world and of the enormous struggles, sacrifices, and sufferings, both internal and external, necessary to engender it. As he proclaims in saying 16," People think, perhaps, that I have come to throw peace upon the world. They don't know that I have come to throw disagreement upon the world, and fire, and sword, and struggle.”

Jesus has far too mordant an understanding of ruthlessness and corruption not to realize that only divine violence can end human violence—only a sacred violence of utter abandon to God and utter commitment to transformation can dissolve the human violence that keeps the world sunk in degradation. Not only does Jesus know this, but he faces its necessity and lives it out in the extremity of his own life; he is fully aware that his knowledge of the laws of the birth of the Kingdom threatened all previous human accommodations to the way of the world; after his very first public sermon, the Gospel of Matthew tells us, occasional attempts on his life were made. Unlike many of the gurus and so-called teachers of our time, whose vague transcendental waffling further drugs an already comatose culture and leaves every aspect of the status quo intact, Jesus' vision of the new way was rooted not only in visionary ecstasy but in an utterly illusionless and ruthless analysis of power in all its aspects. This is what made him—and makes him—dangerous, perpetually scandalous, and what makes the Gospel of Thomas a fiery challenge, not only to less incendiary versions of his own message, but to all philosophers who do not propose a complex mystical revolution on every level.

Jesus risked such an almost alienating fervor and uncompromising urgency of address not merely because he understood that the Kingdom could not be birthed by any less absolute passion, but because he knew too, from the majesty and astonishment of his own experience, that empowerment on a scale as yet undreamt of awaited any being radical enough to accept and risk the terms of transformation he was proposing. Anyone who reads the Gospel of Thomas with an open mind and awakened heart will realize that what Jesus was trying to create was not an ethical or sophisticated revolution alone; he was attempting to birth a fully divine human race, a race of beings as radically alive and aware as he was himself. In saying 108, he makes this clear: "Jesus said: He who drinks from my mouth will become like I am, and I will become he. And the hidden things will be revealed to him.”

"Another consolation to be attributed to the Holy Spirit (cf. 1 Pet 1:12) is the fulfillment of Jesus' preaching, that is, that"The Gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a witness to all nations" (Mt 24:14).” - Pope John Paul II

The Spirit: Another Comforter
Pope Paul, General Audience March 13, 1991

"In his farewell discourse to the apostles during the Last Supper on the night before he died, Jesus promised: "I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter to be with you always" (Jn 14:16). The word 'Comforter' here translates the Greek word Parakletos , the name which Jesus gave the Holy Spirit. 'Comforter' is one possible meaning of Paraclete. In his discourse in the upper room Jesus suggested this meaning because he promised his disciples the continuing presence of the Spirit as a remedy against the sadness caused by his departure (cf. Jn 16:6-8).

The Holy Spirit, sent by the Father, will be 'another Comforter' sent in the name of Christ, whose messianic mission must come to a close with his departure from this world to return to the Father. This departure, which took place through his death and resurrection, was necessary so that 'another Comforter' could come. Jesus clearly affirmed this when he said: "If I do not go, the Comforter will not come to you" (Jn 16:7). The Second Vatican Council's Constitution Dei Verbum presents this sending of the 'Spirit of truth' as the concluding moment of the revelatory and redemptive process responding to God's eternal plan (cf. n. 4)...

The Comforter whom Isaiah spoke of, seen from the perspective of prophecy, is the one who brings the Good News from God, confirming it with 'signs,' that is, 'with works containing the salutary good of truth, justice, love and liberation', the 'consolation of Israel.' And when Jesus Christ, after having accomplished his work, left this world to return to the Father, he announced 'another Comforter,' that is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in his Son's name (cf. Jn 14:26)...

Another consolation to be attributed to the Holy Spirit (cf. 1 Pet 1:12) is the fulfillment of Jesus' preaching, that is, that 'the Gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a witness to all nations' (Mt 24:14). Among these nations, covering every era, there are also the people of the contemporary world, who seem so distracted and even led astray by success and the attraction of a too one-sided, material progress. To these people too, and to all of us, the work of the Spirit-Paraclete extends, who does not cease giving consolation and comfort with the Good News of salvation.”

Bearing witness to the opening of the Kingdom of God May 5, 1970

May 5th, 1994 was waited with much anticipation. It was on this day 24 years ago on May 5, 1970 that Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, after a sustained meditation into the early hours of the morning, had opened the Sahasrara Chakra (Kingdom of God). She accomplished this awesome feat by immersing Her Lotus Feet in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Nargol (about 150 miles from Mumbai, India), and entering a state of Supreme Samadhi that has no parallel. It is nothing short of a superhuman feat, beyond anything known to humans.

Kash had absolutely no idea of any of the above facts. Neither did his family know any better as they were new to Sahaja yoga. Instead of instructing Kash to ask the Divine Mother how She opened the Sahasrara Chakra, his father told him to ask Her how She got Self-Realization!

Kash questioned what was the meaning of"Self-Realization", but was told to get all his answers from the Great Adi Shakti. (Actually Kash's father just casually wanted to get some facts, expecting a short verbal answer. He was totally unprepared for possibly the most spectacular Revelation ever witnessed.)

Kash squatted on the floor in meditation. The state of Sahaj Samadhi was quickly attained as the Kundalini rose up from the base of the spine to the Sahasrara, the Kingdom of God that Shri Jesus kept repeating to ignorant, hostile humans two thousand years ago.

In a flash Kash transcended the ever elusive mystical barrier that veil ordinary humans from their inner glory - the glory of the Kingdom of God within.

The Light shone ever so brilliantly from above the Immortal Throne of the Great Celestial Mother as Shri Param-jyotih Devi [2] sat in Bliss and Joy.

Her child bowed down and exchanged greetings, noticing that all the Divine Beings were already gathered in advance. He bowed to all of them and exchanged greetings. They did the same in return.

The Great Holy Spirit got down from the Timeless Throne and walked to him. Kash noticed that Shri Mataji was wearing a crown.

He asked if he could request something from Her. Shri Mataji smiled and replied that She already knew why he had come.

Kash, slightly surprised, innocently asked Her what it was. She answered that that he wanted to know how She had got Her own Self-Realization, exactly as had been discussed a short while ago on Earth.

(Although the Divine Mother knew that Kash's request of witnessing Her Self-realization was not what his father had in mind, She answered it precisely. The Adi Shakti knew that he wanted to find out how the Sahasrara Chakra was opened on May 5, 1970. {It must be understood that for Her to know precisely the thought differences between father [who wanted to know how Sahasrara Chakra was opened?] and son [who wanted to know what is"self-realization"?] She had to exist in both their Sahasraras.)

Shri Mataji then walked back to Her Eternal Throne and sat on it. Kash, who followed behind as instructed, noticed that it was made of solid gold and had a cushion on it.

He sat down beside Her on the right of the Throne.

All the messengers of God Almighty were present

Next to him was Shri Hanuman in one of the best dress Kash had seen. The Lord of the Angels smiled at him. He returned the smile.

Beside Shri Hanuman was Shri Jesus. On the left side of the Eternal Throne was Shri Ganesha.

Kash noticed that as usual the entire Divine Unity — Shri Buddha, Radha, Krishna, Shiva, Prophet Muhammad, Guru Nanak, and others — were sitting on the ground in a semicircle, with the Great Sacred Mother in the middle. All were in their normal meditative stance and squatting on the soft clouds with both hands at their knees, palms facing upwards — specifically as how Sahaja Yogis meditate on Earth.

Their spiritual form was of a 'solid' state, that is, it had form. For example, the clothes that they were wearing conformed to the contours of their squatting spirit bodies.

When all were ready a '3-dimensional projection' materialized in mid-air before them. It showed the feet of the Great Primordial Mother immersed in water, just above the ankles. The whole visual apparition was suspended in mid-air. It was like a drive-in theater but with a huge difference. Not only was the projection three-dimensional but it was stunningly real and alive.

In fact it was alive!

In Heaven the most blessed day was being witnessed. The past was being projected into the present. The Great Eternal Mother and Her Divine Deities were witnessing what transpired on May 5th, 1970 twenty-four years later on May 5th, 1994! The Great Adi Shakti was showing the actual past that was still existing in the present, a time dimension way beyond human apprehension. It was even beyond Kash's ability to visualize it as a projection, so life-like was this spiritual movie.

After about a minute or so the projection moved up Her form.

The Divine Mother who never ages even a single second

The face of the the eternally young Great Divine Mother sitting on the Golden Throne was younger than the 47-year-old Great Divine Mother Shri Nirmala Devi who opened the Sahasrara in 1970 and the 71-year-old Great Divine Mother Shri Nirmala Devi at Cabella, Italy 1994.

In other words, the spiritual form of the eternally young Great Adi Shakti in the Sahasrara of Kash was younger than Her two physical forms of May 5, 1970 (when She opened the Sahasrara at Nargol, India) and May 5, 1994 (when She was in Cabella, Italy).

Put simply, the eternally young Adi Shakti watching the projection with all the other Divine Beings on May 5th, 1994 was younger than both Her past (May 5, 1970) and present (May 5, 1994) forms.

Again, in other words, the eternally young Adi Shakti watching the 3D image in the Spirit World on May 5, 1994, was younger than Her human incarnations at the time She opened the Sahasrara Chakra at Nargol, India on May 5, 1970 (47 years-old) and that living in Cabella, Italy on May 5, 1994 (71 years-old).

The Great Spirit had Her Feet immersed in the sea

The projection showed Her sitting on a long, flat concrete structure, against a rocky background landscape and some houses, and facing the dark watery vastness before Her. Shri Sindura-Tilakancita Devi [3] was wearing a white sari with a red border, and had a bindi on Her forehead.

The Lotus Feet of Shri Nirmala Devi were submerged in the Indian Ocean. She was in deep meditation.

Suddenly streams of red and yellow sparks of light began spewing out from the top of Her head around the Brahmarandhra, bursting about a foot or two into the air.

Kash said that these sparks "looked like fireworks," "like a volcano erupting and shooting lava into the air.”

They came out in a steady stream as if there was a fire blazing inside the head of the Great Primordial Guru. But he could not see the interior of these "fireworks", "volcanoes," or "fire" as only the frontal view of the Great Supreme Goddess was projected.

For about 10 minutes these "tongues of flame" kept issuing forth from the head of the Great Holy Ghost.

Then the fiery blaze stopped. Immediately a fountain of water gushed out of the top of Her Head about three feet into the air. It poured down like rain and the Great Celestial Mother was completely drenched by the Water of Life.

The Fountain of Life kept gushing for about 10 minutes.

Great Holy Spirit was in Peace, Bliss and Joy

Throughout the extraordinary phenomena the face of the Great Divine Mother was one of absolute serenity and tranquility as the greatest spiritual feat in the history of this universe — the opening of the Sahasrara Chakra, the Kingdom of God within — was undertaken by the Promised Comforter!

The Holy Spirit sat completely motionless as the Water of Life kept gushing forth into the air from the Primordial Kundalini within Her.

All the Divine Messengers were in absolute Bliss and tears of Joy rolled down their cheeks. This was the second time Kash saw tears in their eyes.

Their Joy was clearly unrestrained. There was good reason for such an extremely rare display of emotion among these Immortal Beings. The human form of the Promised Comforter had achieved the most important task of any divine incarnation — the opening of the Sahasrara Chakra or Kingdom of God for the salvation of humanity. The Supreme Spirit had activated the Adi Kundalini that would grant humans the power to baptize (awaken the Kundalini) of fellow beings, evolve into the eternal spirit, and enter the Kingdom of God. The Resurrection, the final evolution of Homo sapiens, had become a Reality!

After a while the Fountain of the Water of Life stopped but the Great Formless Mother continued meditating. For another five minutes they watched this visual projection as Shri Nirmala Devi continued sitting with Her Lotus Feet still immersed in the Indian Ocean.

It was now early dawn on this infinitesimally tiny speck of cosmic dust known as Earth. All the Messengers of God Almighty had again witnessed that dawn of May 5, 1970, the first eyewitnesses of the Blossom Time that will enable humans to take a giant leap in Cosmic Consciousness.

Then the projection disappeared completely. The Great Holy Spirit then informed everyone that there would be meditation.

Everyone raised their Kundalinis collectively and began meditation.

After it was over Kash bowed and thanked the Great Universal Mother for probably the most priceless proof that Shri Adhiparasakthi Shri Nirmala Devi is the Promised Messiah.

He asked for permission to leave, bowed to the Divine Unity and closed his spiritual eyes. He then sank down through the clouds of the Kingdom of Heaven and awakened to this hellish world of Alice Cooper and Rockbitch.

Note: The initial two discourses of John clearly portray the Fourth Gospel's central idea of a new awakening through Shri Jesus. The first is addressed to Nicodemus, the Jewish leader and theologian, who receives illumination from the light that has"come into the world" (John 3:19). Shri Jesus preaches that entering the Kingdom involves a new birth, a gift of the Spirit, and a new realm of existence different from the flesh life of this world (John 3:5). The second is to the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well (John 4:7-26). Here Shri Jesus informs that the water of Jacob's well will be superseded by the Water of Eternal Life which He brings.

The opening of the Sahasrara on May 5, 1970 where the fountain of water gushes out of the Divine Mother's head, also witnessed by Shri Jesus, is the Water of Life.

Thus the Devi makes the photo, the Sahasrara, and 5 May 1970 priceless!

Dear disciples of Shri Mataji,

Namaste, i bow to the Spirit-Paraclete who is your Self!

After almost 18 years I received an email and photo (appended below) in which Shri Mataji confirms it was taken just after She had opened the collective Sahasrara Chakra: “This photo was taken after I opened the collective Sahasrara Chakra.” In other words, this photo was taken on the day Shri Mataji opened the Kingdom of God (Sahasrara) i.e., May 5, 1970.

There were so many extraordinary aspects to those times with Shri Mataji in the early days. In some moments She wrapped us all so expertly in Her maya and 'play' it was indeed possible to become totally relaxed, swept up in the feeling, that to be in Her company was the most normal, natural experience and it was perfectly OK to chat, joke, even watch television with Her, or sip Cokes and eat samosas. But there were other times when in an instant, She became the Goddess, and promoted the deepest feelings of complete humility, gratitude and an astounded sense that we were in the presence of an absolutely Divine personality. One time we were looking at some early photos with Mother. There was one, a very soulful looking portrait, taken of Her in the early 1970's, a beautiful black and white image. I remarked on what a lovely photo it was - I think it was the one of Mother standing by a beach in a white sari.

'This photo was taken after I opened the collective Sahasrara Chakra. In this photo I even look a bit sad,' Shri Mataji said when She looked at it.

Danya and I fell silent and waited for Her to say more. She had become very reflective.

'I look very serious in this photo. At that time I even stopped eating and became a little thin.' Then Mother continued, 'From birth I knew I was the Goddess, and my job was to save and raise up this doomed humanity.'

My sister Danya and I began to realize we had gone from a casual conversation about photos, to sitting at the feet of Adi Maya. Shri Mataji then expressed Her feelings on gazing into the collective Sahasrara Chakra of humanity. She said that before this had happened She always felt confident that when the time came She would be able to find a way to do the work of saving us all. She described to us both how it was only when She gazed inside the collective Sahasrara and saw the twisted and tangled nadis there that revealed all the problems of the human condition, that She realized how hard the job would be, and how complicated, and damaged the human race had become. It was these emotions - this realization, of the huge task that lay ahead - that She saw reflected on Her face in that early photo. There was nothing that either Danya or myself could say after this. All we could do was sit in silence feeling such profound gratitude for Mother's amazing compassion - Her ability to take on impossible burdens so that all of us could transcend and live better lives.

And 18 years ago (May 5, 1994) the great Devi was requested, in ignorance, how She got Her self-realization:

Her response was beyond all expectations, all the more since we were just a few months into Sahaja Yoga.

But what i would like to comment, in relation to the seaside photo, is this revelation given by the Spirit-Paraclete to Kash on May 5th, 1994:

"The projection showed Her sitting on a long, flat concrete structure, against a rocky background landscape and some houses, and facing the dark watery vastness before Her. Shri Sindura-Tilakancita Devi [3] was wearing a white sari with a red border, and had a bindi on Her forehead.”

i) Shri Mataji is back at Her beach-house which has to be close to the spot She opened the Sahasrara Chakra. We have to assume there are other beach-houses or property around;
ii) The high tide and the sea visible in the background;
iii) The long, flat concrete structure continues running from what looks like a gate on the right end;
iv) Shri Mataji is most probably wearing a white sari and a border is visible around the neck area;
v) She has a bindi on Her forehead.

Shri Mataji confirms that the photo was taken just after She opened the Sahasrara Chakra, and not day or two later. Thus She must have walked back to the beach-house from a short distance away. What i am trying to say is that in the photo the concrete structure continues further after the gate. It probably is the structure She sat on in the early dawn of May 5, 1970 and immersed Her legs into the Indian Ocean. But it could be another concrete structure nearby.

However, the high tide lends credibility to that fact i.e., one can only immerse the legs in the sea (while sitting on the concrete wall) when the tide is high. Otherwise, in a sitting position, it is not possible to immerse one's legs. That is also not possible during low tide.

Thus this photo, in relation to the Devi's '3-dimensional projection' of the actual event, is most significant to the credibility of Shri Mataji opening the Sahasrara Chakra on May 5, 1970. It should become the centerpiece of our external faith, a visible reminder of our eternal Mother on that historic day. Otherwise it becomes just another image of the thousands taken of Shri Mataji.

But honestly, it has (become another image for Her devotees). All these years i never heard anyone talking about it until just a few days ago, yet another reminder of the poverty that is Sahaja Yoga. It took me nearly 18 years to find that it is priceless, one that will be now displayed and remembered with reverence and faith in my home and heart. The vast majority of Her so-called devotees never did so as Shri Mataji only told them it was taken just after She opened the Sahasara. (They collectively assumed that Shri Mataji sat under a tree and the photo was long forgotten, languishing among the thousands taken over the decades.) The Devi, on the other hand, confirmed exactly how Her incarnation (Shri Mataji) opened the Sahasrara Cakra, after which the image was taken.

Without the Devi's revelations the Sahasrara (Kingdom of God) makes little sense. So does the photo as i have seen it many time before. Thus the Devi makes the photo, the Sahasrara (Kingdom of God), and 5 May 1970 priceless!

regards to all,

jagbir

“As soon as the Sahasrara was opened the whole atmosphere was filled with tremendous Chaitanya. And there was tremendous Light in the sky. And the whole thing came on the Earth — as if a torrential rain or a waterfall — with such tremendous force, as if I was unaware and got stupefied. The happening was so tremendous and so unexpected that I was stunned and totally silent at the grandeur.

I saw the Primordial Kundalini rising like a big furnace, and the furnace was very silent but a burning appearance it had, as if you heat up metal, and it had many colors. In the same way, the Kundalini showed up as a furnace, like a tunnel, as you see these plants you have here for coal burning that create electricity. And it stretched like a telescope and came out one after another, Shoo! Shoo! Shoo! Just like that.

And the Deities came and sat on their seats, golden seats, and then they lifted the whole of the head like a big dome and opened it, and then this torrential rain complete drenched Me. I started seeing all that and got lost in the Joy. It was like an artist seeing his own creation, and I felt the Joy of great fulfillment.

After coming out of this beautiful experience I looked around and saw human beings so blind and I became absolutely silent, and desired that I should get the cups to fill the Nectar....”

“Today we are celebrating the opening of the Sahasrara. On this day I must say it was a Great Happening that took place on all the humanity. It was such an achievement, which I never realized before. Now I can see that without Self-Realization it would have been impossible to talk to people.

Then this happened! I thought that how I will talk to people about it because no one would understand Me and it would be a big mistake on My part to say something about Sahasrara because even about Sahasrara nowhere in the scriptures something was described. It was absolutely an ambiguous description I would say where people could not even have thought there is a realm beyond Sahasrara, and one has to enter that realm where is the Reality.

That time what I saw around Me was darkness and unless and until there are many Lights, people will never realize that how important it is to have Light.”

The Paraclete Sri Mataji
Adi Shakti Puja, Cabella, Italy — June 9, 1996

"I used to think, 'Why are men doing such a drama and what has happened to them? Why are they doing all this nonsense?' But to whom was I to say all these things? I was all alone then. At the time when I arrived here [Nargol, 1970], the only confusion that I had must be done. After coming here, when I saw this rakshasa was mesmerizing people, I realized then if at that time somehow the Sahasrara was not opened, then God knows where these people would ultimately be lead. Moreover, the spell of his influence could not be ignored and also what would have been the fate of his disciples, those who were trying to seek God and the truth?

Then I decided to stay the night at the seashore. I was all alone and felt very good. There was no one around to say a word. And then in meditation, I felt that the time had arrived when the Sahasrara must be opened. The moment I desired for the opening of the Sahasrara, what I noticed was that the Kundalini rose like a telescope within me, opening one stage after the other, travelling upward — khat, khat, khat. The colour of it was like the mixture of all the colours of these lamps put together, with which you have decorated. It was like the colour of molten red-hot iron.

Then I saw the external structure of the Kundalini that kept on rising up, creating sounds at each chakra. The Kundalini rose up to pierce the Brahmarandhra. Piercing mine was not a big deal, but then I thought it would now become easier in the world.

I felt at that moment whatever energy was there above suddenly entered within me like a cool breeze from every direction. It was then I realized that now there was no harm in starting the work.

The confusion was all over. Yet not being completely certain about the decision, I thought with all calmness that at last the time had come now. 'At most what will happen? People will protest or beat Me up. At maximum, they will laugh or make fun or, beyond that, they are going to kill me.' But then there was nothing to fear. This ultimately had to be done. I had come on Earth for this purpose only, to awaken the collective consciousness in human beings. I thought, until people received their Self Realization or understood their own Self, this task would be impossible.

Whatever else one would have tried to do in this world would be of no use at all. That was the reason to begin with that I worked it out on an old lady who knew me well. When she received her Realization, then I was then satisfied. I said to myself, 'Well, at least one has received her Realization.' By any means was it an easy task to give Realization in this Kali Yuga? But then when one of them received Realization, I felt many others could also get their Realization. And especially at the level of collective consciousness, it would be easier to give awareness. It was easy to give Realization to one person. It was in fact very easy to make a person aware. But to work it out on a collective level on the masses, it demanded more work.

So I had to work a bit more with my acquired experiences with the humans. As a matter of fact, I felt that when I had to stop, what would be the factors that would be required to consider for taking out the bad habits or individual problems or conditionings from human beings. Because one individual had one type of problem, another had a second type, while the third had yet another type. I thought if it had to be worked out on a collective level, then everyone should get the benefit with a single en-masse Realization. Everyone should be able to gain out of it. Now I cannot explain it to you here, but it is true that these types of workings had never been done before on a collective level.

I had achieved all these through meditation.

“Today is a great day for us, for all the Sahaja Yogis that on this day ... the Sahasrara was opened out. It was just a miracle I should say because I didn't think that I am at a point where it could be done. So I wanted to wait but some things happened that made Me think that it had to be opened. It was in such a situation that I felt if I delayed it anymore now it may help these false gurus to spread their nonsense all over.”

“For all of us the seekers the last work of the Divine of opening the last centre in the Great Primordial Being was done on the 5th of May, 1970. It is the greatest event of all the spiritual happenings of the Universe. It was done with great care and great attachment. It is not in the limits of human understanding how things are worked in the heavens. It is your fortune and God's Love that has worked this one.

Without this happening there could not have been a possibility to give mass Realization to people. One could have done it on one or two persons here and there, but to give such a mass awakening could not have been possible.”

“So it was a turmoil ... and at this turmoil state only Adi Shakti had to come to establish the Dharma...

When I was born I was shocked at the way people were. At that time I don't think I met many seekers... First I thought I've come a little early ... but then I saw these horrible false gurus also throwing their charms on people and trying to control them. That made Me really, really think that now I'd better stop worrying as to what sort of people there are — let's start! And that's how the first Brahmarandhra Chedan took place in India. It was 5th May, 1970 ... in the morning time.”

“By saying there's no God, God doesn't disappear. He is very much there. Sahaja Yoga is the only way you can prove the existence of God and all that is said so far about all these Incarnations because the Seventh Chakra is now open. You get your Realization, and you become the spirit. It is so imminent that the Seventh Chakra had to be opened so that you pass from one life level to another level.”

The Paraclete Sri Mataji
Geneva, Switzerland — June 13, 1985

“Without breaking the Sahasrara we could not have achieved the ascent en masse... To keep Sahasrara open should be very easy if the western brains could understand and be aware of your Mother. When your Mother is the Deity of Sahasrara the only way to be able to keep the Sahasrara open has to be complete surrendering. For that many ask Me, 'How do we do it'?' It's a very funny question. It is irrelevant. If your Sahasrara has been opened by someone, and luckily that is the Deity before you, it should be the easiest thing to surrender.

But it is not ... What is surrendering? ... What do you have to surrender? A drop has to dissolve in the Ocean to become the Ocean, and a drop cannot be greater than the Ocean — can it be? So what is the surrendering? Surrendering of our conditionings, of our ego, and the artificial barriers we have built around us ...

But one should know this is the greatest of greatest opportunity for you, not for the Divine. If you are not available the Divine can find its own way of fulfilling its Last Culmination of Expression. Even to understand how immense the task is you need a surrendering heart.

The area of the Sahasrara is the realm of God. When the Brahmarandhra opens fully then the heavens open within yourself. The Kundalini, which has risen up and given you Realization, creates the opening by which the Divine starts pouring all its subtleties inside your brain ...

All of us can achieve that state of Nirvikalpa... After Nirvikalpa you cannot come down.”

You Have To Be In Nirvikalpa,

“When the Kundalini enters the Agnya Chakra, She enlightens it. Then Christ within you is enlightened or awakened. He sucks both these balloons of ego and the super-ego and the whole Agnya Chakra opens. There is simultaneous opening of the Sahasrara. I saw the Sahasrara of the Virata open. It was like tongues of flames. Just like when you dissect the human brain, its cross-section looks like petals of flame. In the center of it, it looks like a yellow hole. The opening of the Sahasrara is sudden. With a bang it opens.”

The Paraclete Sri Mataji

“You have to take a stand in your family, in your surroundings, with your friends, and you have to tell them, 'You better all get realized.' The reason for that is that the Christ who crucified Himself is going to come back with His Eleven Forces of Destruction. And when He starts He is not going to ask you to take any Realization. No one is going to be bothered whether you are going to hell. He will just sort out. But those who have got Realization will enter into the Kingdom of God. You have to enter into the Kingdom of God here, as I say, in the Seventh Chakra.”

“This inner vision is far more authentic than all the theories and philosophies for it is a practical experience. In fact this awakened Inner Eye is infinitely more convincing than the strongest intellectual belief for this experience of spiritual vision transforms the seer, thus demonstrating the extreme end of perception. The perceiver then realizes the narrow separateness dividing one from Reality.”

Lama Anagarika, Foundations of Tibetan Mysticism,
Samuel Weiser, Inc., Maine, 1990

“When the Kundalini awakens, tremendous power is unleashed. The resulting expansion of consciousness affects every element of our being, from our biological functions to our personal relationships to our concept of reality to our influence in the world. We are irrevocably changed in ways we could not have imagined and in ways we may never fully comprehend.

For some of us, the risen Kundalini gives us our first or most unmistakable contact with the Spirit. Before my Kundalini rose, I thought the resurgence of Goddess religions were mostly a feminist backlash against millennia of a masculinized God. Now I understand it all quite differently. Kundalini is Shakti, the Great Mother Goddess, the living energy that daily makes her vibrant presence known in my body and my psyche. She is as fierce and powerful as she is mysterious and enticing.”

“The seventh major chakra is Sahasrara, located on the top of the head. The color is white. Through Sahasrara chakra, we receive universal cosmic energy and energetic information from God or the Divine Center.

Sahasrara represents the highest aspect of the Self as a cosmic organism. It is linked to the Absolute body (the conclusion of the development of all seven subtle bodies of a cosmic organism), and it relates to the whole being. Sahasrara chakra is a center of psychic energy. The crown chakra is the most purified and evolved energy level in the bio-energy system, a balanced and perfected universal wisdom.

The goal of a human is to improve one's own karma by living a"good"life, and a healthy Sahasrara chakra regulates human behavior and personal characteristics to live a life in accordance with karmic law. Sahasrara chakra is a center of spirituality, refinement, and magnificence. Through the crown chakra, human spirit connects to Universal Spirit, and the spiritual being moves toward Universal Consciousness—the individual self is fully dissolved here. At the crown chakra level, the cosmic self opens to the Source, unites with cosmic principles, and governs the entire universe within the body. The crown chakra is associated with universal knowledge and spiritual understanding.”

“The term kundalini is used to describe the divine energy within each person. Kundalini is the energy of life, or the Divine, as it is experienced in the individual. It is the energy that gives us life—the same energy that gives life to the universe.

Kundalini is represented as a 'coiled snake' in the chakra at the base of the spine of each human—the serpentine divinity who sleeps within each individual until awakened. As the energy that lies dormant in each person is released it moves up the spine and activates the physic mechanism (chakras or energy/awareness centers). Deeper awareness and consciousness is experienced in the unfolding of and flow between those chakras. It is the rising of the kundalini, piercing and releasing the awareness within each chakra, that cuts through our tensions, blocks, ignorance, and ego. Ultimately, the kundalini moves up through all of the major chakras and rests in the chakra at the top of head, called the sahasrara chakra. This is the sacred space where we become completely aware of our total unity with the Divine.”

Kundalini And Shaktipat, www.sacredspaceyogas

“Humans are children of the cosmos. All our organs correspond to energies fluctuating in the cosmos. According ancient teachings subtle worlds of the cosmos create our individual bodies. Like the Universe, our energetic system consists of seven worlds, and has seven primary bodies (or auric layers) that interact with each other. These bodies consist of the energy of the corresponding universal worlds accordingly, deal with them, and receive the energetic information from them....

The seventh chakra is Sahasrara (the Crown Chakra). It is located on the top of the head. The color is white. It is linked to Absolute body (the conclusion of the development of all seven bodies of a cosmic organism). Sahasrara chakra is a center of psychic energy, and the only chakra that follows its subtle body Absolute in cosmic spheres after death. It is the center of psychic energy of the human organism. Through Sahasrara chakra, we connect to the"Divine Center.”"

“The Kundalini-Yoga helps the individual (Soul) to regain its identity with the Divine Mother, which is the Cosmic consciousness. Individual consciousness in its lower state is the wakeful state....

In kundalini-yoga, the devotee, through the grace of Guru and Sri-Lalita as ichcha-sakti (power of his will) stirs dormant kundalini (coiled up) as body consciousness in muladhara and by conscious effort of will, makes Her pierce through the six chakras from muladhara to ajna. Once the kundalini rises and goes beyond ajna, the devotee becomes cosmic conscious or turiya... . Beyond this is turiya state, where individual and cosmic consciousness unite.”
