Till today Sunday, October 29, 2006 they are unable to muster the courage and conviction to publicly admit even Her true identity, let alone Her Divine Message to humanity!
When the Divine walks the Earth, silence is betrayal. This page confronts the spiritual leadership of Sahaja Yoga for its failure to affirm the eschatological truth of Shri Mataji’s incarnation. The Adi Shakti has revealed Herself, the Cool Breeze flows, and the Last Judgment unfolds. Yet WCASY remains mute. Courage and conviction are not optional—they are the measure of truth. And truth, once denied, becomes hypocrisy.
The Unproclaimed Message: A Crisis of Conviction in Sahaja Yoga
This paper examines the internal conflict within the Sahaja Yoga movement concerning the public proclamation of its founder's, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi's, divine identity. It analyzes claims from internal critics that the World Council for the Advancement of Sahaja Yoga (WCASY) has failed to uphold Shri Mataji's mandate to announce her as the Adi Shakti and the Paraclete, thereby betraying her mission. Drawing on primary sources from within the movement and contextualizing the issue within the academic study of new religious movements, this paper explores the theological and organizational dynamics at play. The central thesis is that the WCASY's alleged silence represents a pivotal crisis of conviction, with significant implications for the future of the Sahaja Yoga movement and its message of collective spiritual transformation.
Introduction
Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi (1923-2011), the founder of the Sahaja Yoga movement, is a figure of profound spiritual significance to her followers. Born in India, she established Sahaja Yoga in 1970, a meditation practice centered on the awakening of the Kundalini energy to achieve self-realization. [1] However, beyond the practice of meditation, a deeper, more contentious issue lies at the heart of the movement: the public declaration of Shri Mataji's divine nature. While she herself made numerous unambiguous statements about her identity as the Adi Shakti (the primordial power) and the Paraclete (the Comforter promised by Jesus), a significant portion of her followers, particularly the leadership body known as the World Council for the Advancement of Sahaja Yoga (WCASY), have been accused of failing to proclaim this message to the world. This paper will explore the origins and implications of this internal crisis, analyzing the arguments of those who see this silence as a profound betrayal of Shri Mataji's divine mandate.
