“The Inevitability of the Last Judgment: "The Final Weighing of Deeds"

Except for the theme of monotheism, the Quran speaks more of the coming Day of Judgment than of any other topic. Confessing the Shahadah — "There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Prophet of God" — and believing in the accountability of all humans before God are the cement which holds Islam together.

Muhammad, among other things, came to warn us of a time when truth would be known, when the thoughts and intentions of the heart would be revealed. He earnestly proclaimed as inevitable a day when accounts would be settled and when scales would be balanced.

Fazlur Rahman, in an oblique paraphrase of su human will be shaken into a unique and unprecedented self-awareness of his deeds; he will squarely and starkly face his own doings, not-doings, and mis-doings and accept the judgment upon them. . . . "

Something like a Final Judgment or Day of Reckoning is a naturally corollary of monotheism. If there is one God who knows all and sets standards of behavior for the world, there must be a time of judgment, or the edifice crumbles of its own weight.”
                                                       

“Object : A personal experience of Self-Realisation I wish to share
with my compatriots.

Thanks for creating a world forum to allow those of us who live so far away from home to express our deep concern for our country and perhaps make a useful contribution to the debate around our country’s future.

I have to admit that not a single day goes by without feeling a sense of frustration at not being able to do something for my country which will improve its social, economic and political status. Moreover every Algerian that I meet abroad feels powerless to do anything which could bring happiness, well being and security to a country which has been torn by years of dictatorship, violence and economic hardship. Instead of brooding on my frustration, I thought I might share my personal experience with my compatriots.

Naturally I was born a Muslim but I was also a seeker of truth. I liked the idea of believing in God but I had to admit that it was just blind faith because no matter how much I prayed, fasted and gone through all sorts of penances I never managed to communicate with God let alone see Him. Everything I learned in Islam came from my family, my society and ancestors. I can’t blame anyone for having forced me to accept a set of rituals and beliefs given that nobody knew any better and it was just everyone’s desire to do their best to raise pious, obedient, religious children. This is the way my parents were brought up and so were their ancestors. In addition I was told that since I was born in Algeria, I was most likely to be Sunni which I later came to know as an orthodox form of Islam where communication with the divine or through a saint or some other religious institution was out of question. Gradually I discovered that Islam had split into several groups which had different ways of approaching the divine, the major ones being Sunni, Chia and sufism (as a mystical branch of Chia Islam).

In my quest for truth I began to sense that there must be a way as promised by the prophet (pbuh) of knowing oneself (the Rouh or inner being) and thereby knowing the divine with all its science, knowledge joy and self fulfilment. So one day, I was extremely fortunate to meet a very great lady, Her Holiness Shri Mataji Nirmaladevi, who was not just a saint but who had the unique power of giving en-masse self realisation. This experience consisted of having one’s inner dormant power, called Kundalini which is located in the sacrum bone area, awakened and rising along the spine until it pierces the fontanel bone area. As a result the recipient feels cool vibrations on his hands and on top of the head. Shri Mataji spoke like a Mother and with compassion, taught me and thousands of people all over the world, that this connection is the actualisation of the resurrection promised by Islam and by all the major religions. She added that when you get this enlightenment you become a much better Muslim because you don’t need blind faith anymore, you can feel God and his divine powers on your fingertips and within yourself, something which has never happened en-masse in the times of previous Incarnations. Once you feel these vibrations you become Sahaj which means spontaneous (thus the name of the discipline: Sahaja Yoga). During the time of the Prophet (pbuh), self-realisation was only enjoyed by those closest to him while the great majority could never understand what he meant by self-knowledge. However in the Koran He promised that one day your hands will speak and your feet will testify against you. This is exactly what happened when I felt vibrations, as an enlightened Muslim I could feel which part of my inner being was alright and which was affected with a problem and then I could clear my energy centres (known in Koran as the seven skies or Sabaa Samawat), improve my connection with reality and feel the infinite compassion and joy of the Almighty flowing through me. Prior to giving any more details about this extraordinary experience, I have to prove that this is not just a hypothesis but a genuine happening which can be enjoyed by every aspiring seeker. The easiest way of trying the experience of self-realisation is to put your hands, with palms upwards, towards a photograph of Shri Mataji and observe what you feel on your fingers, hands and eventually on top of your head. To begin with, you may just feel tingling and heat but gradually, the heat will dissolve and you will feel a cool breeze flowing on your hands and on top of your head. Even if you don't have a photograph just putting your attention on H.H. Shri Mataji with the palms upwards is sufficient to start feeling cool vibrations on your hands.

If I had to describe all the blessings Sahaja yoga has bestowed on thousands of people, all over the world, I would need to write a pile of books. This is just a very humble introduction to the most powerful breakthrough in human evolution.

Finally I have to come back to talking about my country only to say that my dream is that someday many thousands of Algerians will get their self-realisation and will attract the blessings of the divine to establish peace, prosperity and complete satisfaction.”

Inside every human being there is a network of nerves and sensory organs that interprets the outside physical world. At the same time, within us resides a subtle system of channels (nadis) and centers of energy (chakras) which look after our physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual being.

At the base of the spine, in the triangular bone called sacrum (the ancient civilizations knew that there is something sacred about this bone) resides the most subtle spiritual energy, dormant in most of us, called Kundalini. Self-Realization is the awakening of this energy through the central channel, piercing each of the energy centers and emerging at the top of the head (fontanelle bone area) as a gentle "fountain" of coolness. The word fontanelle itself means "little fountain" which shows again the ancient knowledge about this phenomenon of Self-Realization.

Though Self-Realization was the goal of all spiritual traditions of the world, very few were able to achieve it. In these modern times, Shri Mataji has made it an en-masse phenomenon through the spontaneous awakening of the Kundalini that takes place in Sahaja Yoga.

Each of the seven chakras has several spiritual qualities. These qualities are intact within us, and even though they might not always be manifest, they can never be destroyed. When the Kundalini is awakened, these qualities start manifesting spontaneously and express themselves in our life. Thus, through regular meditation, we become automatically very dynamic, creative, confident and at the same time very humble, loving and compassionate. It is a process which starts to develop by itself when the Kundalini rises and starts to nourish our chakras.”

“Effect of Combination of Badha (catches) in some of the Chakras

However, more often than not the problems are caused by a combination of catches in different chakras. These catches could be either induced by a catch/problem of one chakra in another or by external causes. For example roving eyes or bad thoughts, though are supposed to cause a catch at Agnya chakra but also disturb purity of thoughts and hence causes a catch in Mooladhara chakra. Thus a problem in eyes could be cured only by clearing the Mooldhara and Agnya fully.”
                                                       

On that Day that the enemies of Allah will be gathered together to the Fire, they will be marched in ranks.
At length, when they reach the (Fire), their hearing, their sight, and their skins will bear witness against them as to (all) their deeds.

“When Kundalini awakening and Self-Realization has occurred, a flow of energy in the form of cool vibrations starts flowing from the hands. This is what is signified in the above passage. Here Prophet Muhammad is talking of the coming Time — Time of Resurrection — which is in fact the present Age of Aquarius or Kundalini Awakening.”
                                                                           

“In this world good and evil are mixed together. But then they will be sorted out, and each grade of good and evil will be sorted out. So they will proceed in companies to receive judgement. And they will be shown the exact import of everything that they had thought, said, or done, in this life of probation, however they may have concealed or misinterpreted it in this life. Everything will be considered in taking the account, and the account will convince the persons themselves.”
                                                       

“The Arabic word for "teach" and "knowledge" are from the same root. It is impossible to produce in a Translation the complete orchestral harmony of the word "read", "teach", "pen" (which implies reading, writing, books, study, research), "knowledge" (including science, self knowledge, spiritual understanding), and "proclaim", an alternative meaning of the word for "to read". This proclaiming or reading implies not only the duty of blazoning forth Allah’s message, as going with the prophetic office, but also the duty of promulgation and wide dissemination of the Truth by all those who read and understand it. The comprehensive meaning of qara’ refers not only to a particular person and occasion but also gives a universal direction. And this kind of comprehensive meaning, as we have seen, runs throughout the Qur’an — for those who will understand.”
                                                       

“A man’s actual personal religion depends upon many things: his personal psychology, the background of his life, his hidden or repressed feelings, tendencies, or history (which psychoanalysis tries to unravel), his hereditary dispositions or antipathies, and all the subtle influences of his education and his enviroment. The task before the man of God is: (1) to use any of these which can subserve the higher ends; (2) to purify as have been misused; (3) to introduce new ideas and modes of looking at things, and (4) to combat what is wrong and cannot be mended — all for the purpose of leading to the truth and gradually letting in spiritual light where there was darkness before. If that is not done with discretion and the skill of a spiritual Teacher, there may be not only a reaction of obstinacy, but an unseemingly show of dishonour to the true God and His Truth, and doubts would spread among the weaker brethren whose faith is shallow and infirm. What happens to individuals is truly collective of nations or groups of people. They think in their self-obsession that their own ideas are right.”
