Al-Qadr (The Night of Power)

"The present Night of Power is better than a thousands months. But what are the thousand months and why is the Night of Power better? These are questions that the ulema cannot answer correctly and what will explain to them what the Night of Power is? The thousand months is an entire life (80 years 4 months to be precise) spent in prayer, pious deeds, fasting during Ramadan, and remembering God at all times. But Al Qadr (The Night of Power) is better than an entire life of righteous living because it empowers you to resurrect yourself into the eternal spirit during Al-Qiyamah.”

surah 97:1-5 Al-Qadr (The Night of Power)

1. We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:
2. And what will explain to thee what the night of power is?
3. The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.
4. Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand:
5. Peace!...This until the rise of morn!

surah 97:1-5 Al-Qadr (Night of Power)
Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Qur'n, Amana Corporation, 1989.

Al Qadr is the divine decree that will determine the final destiny of all humans.

The present Night of Power is better than a thousands months.

But Al Qadr (The Night of Power) is better than an entire life of righteous living because it empowers you to resurrect yourself into the eternal spirit during Al-Qiyamah. That is why the Baptism of Allah (Self-realization) has enabled you to meditate on His Spirit (Ruh/Shakti) within yourself during Al-Qiyamah (Resurrection) so that you can purify mind, body and soul of all karmas. So what is the point of talking/desiring to know about petty karmas when they are non-existent? Mohamed Oumalek: "What do you think the Baptism of Allah (Self-realization) during Al Qadr is all about?”

Al Qadr is the Night of His Power, Grace and Mercy (prior to the Dawn of Al Qariah) that empowers humans of self-resurrection!

"Qadar: A Measured Destiny The sixth and final article of Islamic belief, as detailed by a famous prophetic Tradition, is belief in destiny, its good and evil. The Arabic word for destiny, qadar, implies the measuring out of something or fixing a limit to it. Thus, in a technical sense, destiny is the divine decree in its fixing limits for existent things, or its measuring out the being of things. Early Muslims would simply define destiny as knowledge that what hits you was not going to miss you, and that what misses you was not going to hit you.

In our discussion of qadar it should be noted that a true and full understanding of the subject is reserved for the select few who have sacrificed great amounts of time and energy for the sake of Islam, after which Allah expands their understanding of complex concepts like this that cannot be contained in logical formulas alone. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said," Whenever Allah desires good for His bondsman, He gives him deep understanding of the religion and He inspires him with righteous guidance" (reported by Tabarani).

"Laylatul Qadr the Night of Power

Laylatul Qadr is a celebration to commemorate the arrival of the final guidance for humans. It is a tribute to the commencement of the message revealed to mankind by their Creator, a message which shows them the way to achieve happiness in both the worlds. Just as the arrival of a child is celebrated, on its birth and then every year, as a bringer of joy and fulfilment for the family, Laylatul Qadr is celebrated as a bringer of light and guidance for mankind. Unlike the birthday which is celebrated with a feast for the senses, Laylatul Qadr includes a feast for the spirit, a feast of worship and prayers.”

http://www.al-islam.org/ramadhan/Intro.htm

Muslim scholars are not able to explain the relationship between the commencement of revelation to the Night of Power i.e., how does it actually empower humans?

Dear Mohammed Oumalek,

The present Night of Power is better than a thousands months.

But Al Qadr (The Night of Power) is better than an entire life of righteous living because it empowers you to resurrect yourself into the eternal spirit during Al-Qiyamah. That is why the Baptism of Allah (Self-realization) has enabled you to meditate on His Spirit (Ruh/Shakti) within yourself during Al-Qiyamah (Resurrection) so that you can purify mind, body and soul of all earthly defects.

Many scholars have tried to translate the Qur'anic term Lailatul Qadr. They called it the Night of Power, the Night of Decrees, the Night of Majesty, the Night of Destiny, the Night of Almightiness and the Grand Night.

The Ummah has been falsely led to believe that Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Power) is the night that God first sent down the first verses of the Qur'n via the Spirit of Revelation Gabriel, to Muhammad when he was forty years old. This is a centuries-old false concept that has entered and firmly entrenched itself in the Muslim mindset. Even Allah's (SWT) confirmation that Ramadan was the month the Quran was sent down is conveniently forgotten! There is absolutely no mention of Al Qadr, the Night of Power and Destiny!

"Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'n, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.”

Quran 2:185

Muslim scholars are unable to explain the relationship between the commencement of revelation during Ramadan to the Night of Power i.e., how does it actually empower humans? Till today it still remains a mysterious, unspecific day during Ramadan. They have just assumed the month of Ramadan and Al Qadr is one and the same, even though logic and revelation dictates otherwise.

Question to ask the Ummah: "Which Muslim community was celebrating Ramadan...”

"Muhammad's Biography: The First Revelations

It was during this time when the Prophet began to see pleasant dreams which in turn proved true. He also felt an increasing need for solitude, and this lead him to seek seclusion and meditation in the rocky hills which surrounded Mecca. There he would retreat for days, taking provisions along with him, and would return to his family for more provisions. In the blaze of day and during the clear desert nights, when the stars seem sharp enough to penetrate the eye, his very substance was becoming saturated with the 'signs' in the heavens, so that he might serve as an entirely adequate instrument for a revelation already inherent in these 'signs.' It was then that he was undergoing a preparation for the enormous task which would be placed upon his shoulders, the task of prophethood and conveying the true religion of God to his people and the rest of humanity.

It came on a night late in the sacred month of Ramadan, the night known to Muslims as Laylat-ul-Qadr, the 'Night of Decree.'

Prophet Muhammad was in solitude in the cave on Mount Hira. He was startled by the Angel of Revelation, Gabriel, the same who had come to Mary, The Mother of Jesus, who seized him in a close embrace. A single word of command burst upon him: 'Iqra' - 'Read!' He said: 'I am not able to read!' but the command was issued twice more, each with the same response from the Prophet. Finally, he was grasped with overwhelming force by the angel. Gabriel released him, and the first 'recitation' of the Quran was revealed to him:

"Read in the name of your Lord who created -created man from a clot. Read: for your Lord is Most Bountiful, who teaches by the pen, teaches man that which he knew not.” (Quran 96:1-5)

Question to ask the Ummah: "Which Muslim community was celebrating Ramadan .... even before the Quran was even revealed?”

This falsehood that Prophet Muhammad was in fact meditating during Ramadan is the only way to induce Muslim to believe Laylat-ul-Qadr occurs during the month of Ramadan!

There are other glaring errors and contradictions that beg for answers. For example, Muslims believe that it was on this night that God first sent down the first verses of the Qur'n via the Spirit of Revelation Gabriel, to Muhammad when he was forty years old i.e., Quran 96:1-5. Yet in the second paragraph below Marwa Afifi states that"It commemorates the night during which Allah, subhana wa talla, revealed a full surah, Soorat Al-Qadr [97:1-5] and the 3 rd to the 6 th verses of Soorat Al-Dukhan.” How can that be true too as we now have three surahs—surah 96: 1-5, 97:1-5, 44:3-6—competing for the first revelation? And does just revealing a full surah and just three verses of the Surah 44 Al-Dukhan, an unproven assumption, make it the Night of Power? It does just not add up, a sure sign that this is just the fabrication of the ulema.

There are other contradictions and just reading the appended article of Marwa Afifi's will cast serious doubts about this major Muslim belief.

Laylut Al Qadr by Marwa Afifi

"Laylut Al Qadr, or the Night of Power falls on the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. We strive arduously throughout the last ten days hoping that one of the nights will coincide with the Night of Power.

Laylut Al Qadr, is embraced not only for its mathematical power but also for its divine revelation. It commemorates the night during which Allah, subhana wa talla, revealed a full surah, Soorat Al- Qadr [97:1-5] and the 3 rd to the 6 th verses of Soorat Al-Dukhan, salla Allahu Alahi wa sallam....

The word power, Al-Qadr , has several implications and meanings, which help deliver a better understanding of the word, hence the night. Qadr means having power over something just as the Creator has power over his creation.

It also means excellence and high esteem because this Night is highly esteemed. Qadr also means to maintain, appoint, assign, or decree an order. On this night, Allah, subhana wa talla informs the angels of His commands and orders for the universe.

The concept of Al Qada Wa Qadar, the fifth article of faith, relates to this topic and means that Allah has decreed or preordained all that a human being will do with his free will.

Qadr also implies measurement in that, all the events in the world will coincide with what Allah has decreed in exact measurement. Allah, subhana wa talla, says in his Holy Book: "Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure.” (Al-Qur'an, 54:49)

This is also the night of honor and prestige which a faithful servant is rewarded with. All his or her good deeds will be multiplied through the mercy of Allah.

Yet the night remains concealed from us, in good wisdom, for the following reasons: Allah conceals many things not just Laylut Al Qadr. He conceals his pleasure from us when we perform good deeds so that we continue to strive in the way of Allah. He conceals His wrath from us when we commit sins so that we may try to abstain from them. He conceals the time of His acceptance of our supplication so that we strive in all our supplications and the time of death is also hidden so that we become more conscious of him and double our efforts all the time.

Allah, subhana wa tallah, has concealed the date of the Night of Power so that believers continue to strive relentlessly throughout the month, seeking the pleasure of thier Lord.

Although we can not determine the exact date, there is evidence that the night falls on the last ten days of Ramadan, specifically on the odd numbered nights. As reported by Bukhari, the Messenger of Allah, sala Allahu alahi wa sallam said: "Seek it on the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.”

Marwa Afifi

Al Qadr has absolutely nothing to do with Ramadan as it the grace period to surrender to His Call to witness the Resurrection and the self- reproaching Spirit. The Great News of the Resurrection is both a priceless blessing and explicit warning that a great calamity is about to befall humankind. This is because Allah has never destroyed or meted punishment until and unless He has warned beforehand. The present Night of Power and Fate (Al Qadr) is the grace period of His Mercy that defers the fearsome, fiery Doomsday - the Day of Sorting Out (Al Qairah):

So let's examine the words of Marwa Afifi anda add our comments.

>"The word power, Al-Qadr , has several implications and meanings,
> which help deliver a better understanding of the word, hence the
> night. Qadr means having power over something just as the Creator
> has power over his creation.”

Qadr means having power over something just as the Creator has power over his creation - absolutely! Those heeding His Call have power over their destination and, specifically in your case, the means to end all karmas. But that is not all - you are empowered to cleanse mind, body and soul of all impurities and vices; you are empowered to give others the Baptism of Allah (Self-realization); you are empowered by the Wind of Qiyamah to heal yourself and others of diseases; you are empowered to check humans thousands of miles away and find out what is wrong with them; you are empowered by the Wind of Qiyamah to ascertain the truth, danger, problems, transgressions, sins, anger etc.

That is why Al Qadr is the Night of Power when every human will be shaken into a unique and unprecedented self-awareness of his deeds; he will squarely and starkly face his own doings, not-doings, and mis-doings and accept the judgment upon them. The self-reproaching Spirit (Ruh) from within will check humans from committing acts against God and keep you on the Straight Path. Al Qadr, the Night of Power and Fate, only empowers those who receive the Baptism of Allah and surrender to His Call to commence and bear witness to the Resurrection.

> It also means excellence and high esteem because this Night is
> highly esteemed. Qadr also means to maintain, appoint, assign, or
> decree an order. On this night, Allah, subhana wa talla informs
> the angels of His commands and orders for the universe.

This Night is highly esteemed because God Almighty sent His Spirit (Ruh) Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi to maintain, appoint, assign, or decree the order that Al-Qiyamah has begun. She has spent an entire life executing His revelation to the letter, a difficult and time- consuming task that was explicitly reserved for His Spirit:

Move not thy tongue with this revelation,
That thou mayest hasten to preserve it.
Surely upon Us rests its collection and its recital.
So when We recite it, then follow thou its recital.
Then upon Us rests the expounding thereof.

Maulawi Sher' Ali, The Holy Qur'n
The Oriental and Religious Pub. Corp. Ltd., Pakistan.

Move not thy tongue in haste to follow and master this revelation:
For we will see to the collecting and the recital of it;
But when we have recited it, then follow thou the recital,
And, verily, afterwards it shall be ours to make clear to thee.

J.M. Rodwell, The Koran, J.M. Dent & Sons 1978.

Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it,
Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it.
Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation.
Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it.

Muhammed Shakir, The Holy Qur'n, University of Michigan.

Do not forestall (the revelation) by moving your tongue.
Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility.
So, as We recite it, follow its reading.
The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us.

Ahmed Ali, Islam: The Qur'n, University Press, 1988

You need not move your tongue too fast to learn this revelation.
We Ourself shall see to its collection and recitation.
When We read it, follow its word attentively;
We shall Ourself explain its meaning.

N.J. Dawood, The Koran, Penguin Books, 1993.

> The concept of Al Qada Wa Qadar, the fifth article of faith,
> relates to this topic and means that Allah has decreed or
> preordained all that a human being will do with his free will.

Yes, Allah did decree or preordain the Resurrection for all humans. Fazlur Rahman, in an oblique paraphrase of sura 50:22, said that Judgment Day is the"Hour when every human will be shaken into a unique and unprecedented self-awareness of his deeds; he will squarely and starkly face his own doings, not-doings, and mis-doings and accept the judgment upon them....”

Something like a Final Judgment or Day of Reckoning is a naturally corollary of monotheism. If there is one God who knows all and sets standards of behavior for the world, there must be a time of judgment, or the edifice crumbles of its own weight.”

Now that the Great News of the Resurrection has been announced all human beings have the free will to do as they please. No one is to be compelled to surrender to this Call.

> Qadr also implies measurement in that, all the events in the world
> will coincide with what Allah has decreed in exact measurement.
> Allah, subhana wa talla, says in his Holy. Book: "Verily, all
> things have We created in proportion and measure.” (Al-Qur'an,
> 54:49)

Except for the theme of monotheism, the Qur'n speaks more of the coming Qiyamah - also known as the Resurrection, the Day of Judgment, Day of Gathering, and the Great Announcement - than of any other topic.”Confessing the Shahadah -"There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Prophet of God"- and believing in the accountability of all humans before God are the cement which holds Islam together.

To believe in the Day of Resurrection is"The most important article of faith in Islam. It is in fact, the basis upon which Islam builds its whole philosophy of Life... The advent of resurrection or Qiyamah is more frequently mentioned in the Noble Quran than any other happening.”

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), among other things, came to warn us of a time when truth would be known, when the thoughts and intentions of the heart would be revealed. He earnestly proclaimed as inevitable a day when accounts would be settled and when scales would be balanced. All the events in the world have begun to coincide with what Allah decreed in exact measurement. Only those misled by Iblis will reject His Sure Signs and Great Announcement.

> This is also the night of honor and prestige which a faithful
> servant is rewarded with. All his or her good deeds will be
> multiplied through the mercy of Allah.

As I said earlier Mohamed, this will be your last birth on earth. The Arabic word for destiny, is qadar. Thus Al Qadr is the divine decree that will determine the final destiny of all humans. This Night of Honor and Prestige rewards any faithful servant who heeds His Call with life eternal in heaven. All your good deeds will be multiplied through the mercy of Allah. Eternal life in heaven will be your just reward during this most blessed Blossom Time. That is why the Night of Al Qadr is better than an entire lifetime (a thousand months) spent in prayer, fasting and remembrance. This is indeed the Great News that many will dispute and disagree.

Concerning what are they disputing?
Concerning the Great News. [5889]

Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Qur'n

On 28 February 1990, while on Her way to Australia, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi stopped at Changi Airport, Singapore. She informed those who had gathered to meet Her that in Islam there is a complete surah written about Her. “In this surah it is stated that the Sent One will give Realization, will make you Pirs and give Collective Consciousness. But you will be non-believers.” The Holy Qur'n also warns Muslims precisely that in the very surah Shri Mataji is talking about i.e., Surah Al-Qiyamah and we quote:

So he gave nothing in charity, nor did he pray!
But on the contrary, he rejected Truth and turned away!
Then did he stalk to his family in full conceit!
Woe to thee, (O man!), yea, woe!
Again, woe to thee, (O man!), yea, woe!

“But the Muslims do not want to talk about Resurrection at all because they want to frighten people with the Doomsday. They don't want to talk about the Resurrection Time which is going to come, which is the intermediary time (Al Qadr: The Night of Power), because they want to use the time (Al Qariah: Day of Noise and Clamor) which will frighten people by saying that: 'Now your Doomsday is coming! Now your Doomsday is coming!'"
